“After the first series, when we went back out there, we just knew they wanted to give up,” he said. “You could just see it in their eyes. It's not anything I can really put into words (but) you could tell by the way a receiver is running his route, or the way you get blocked or the type of passion they're playing with. We just sensed they didn't have it, so we used it to our advantage.”

Pretty obvious from watching it. One of their touchdowns the defensive line got pushed 4 yards back on an obvious running play. I think guys were "doing their best" but their psyche as competitors is broken. The hiring of Frost made people momentarily forget how bad that team was last year. And Frost didn't do anything to make this first year easier. He didn't install a friendly system, offensively or defensively, he didn't keep any former staff and he didn't pander to their needs as players. They are hammering the kids for being slow blinkers, for not being invested, for not being perfect. The team went from having a coach that accepted every behavior, to one that expects perfection. They just can't do it.

I really think this team is better than results indicate. I don't think they're great by any stretch but IMO we have the talent and coaching to be 6-6 at a minimum. But I think Solana Beach Husker put it dead on, as a team their psyche is broken. Simply put, I think this team "forgot" how to win and you can see it in their body language. I really think Akron being played (and us winning) could have completely changed the complexion of this season. I really think once this team gets a win under their belt, we see a change, but right now we have, what, 7 losses straight going back to last season?
