The Blue Devils went 3-0 on the road against an improving Boston College team, @ Syracuse, @ arch rival UNC, and just beat a tough #8 Florida State Team. Buckle up Duke Nation, it’s going to be a wild 2 months ahead of us. I am very proud of these Blue Devils.

One improvement I would like to see is another guard starting over Goldwire so he can spell Tre more.
Tre looked really tired and our of sorts. Giving what he did against UNC it was in way to be expected.
Need the jumpers to fall like they were tonight to open things up more for Carey. Not many teams are long and athletic like Florida state.

Really need to cut down on the turnovers also. If we don’t have all those turnovers, I’m pretty sure we win rather comfortably.
That’s what I said to a friend of mine at halftime. If we would’ve cutdown on the turnovers in the second half then we most likely would’ve won pretty comfortably
For sure. I would say we win that game by maybe 10-15 pts maybe more if not for them. FSU was able to stay in the game off our TO’s
True, but we have to give Florida State their due. They made it tough on our guys. Very active hands, well coached.
I have been guilty of the ‘weda’ line myself. If weda hit our free throws, weda won. If weda hit a few 3’s, weda won.
Florida St was 3-18 from behind the arc. I’m sure their fans are saying the same thing.
It was a hard fought game. Duke made a few more plays than they did.
I loved the "skinny white boy" lineup we trotted out last night with Hurt, Baker, and AOC in the first half (along with Javin and Goldy I believe). They gave our starters a nice rest and actually managed to extend the lead in that short time together. It allowed those guys to get in a rhythm since they didn't constantly have to defer to Tre and Vern, and it forced them to create offense themselves. Loved seeing Alex and Joey moving without the ball and looking for each other. I see some snipers next year!
Coach pulled them too quickly for the starters who then turned it over 3 times in a row allowing FSU to cut the lead in half. Thankfully K realized this and put AOC and Hurt quickly back in.
And would you believe it?? AOC and Hurt consistently made plays down the stretch. I wonder if that has something to do with playing meaningful minutes in the first half and getting opportunities to knock down some shots early on. Major props to Coach for recognizing this. We give him a lot of grief for having a short leash on some guys, that we need to give him credit for allowing them to make the most of their opportunities.

One other thing. We haven't put "it" all together yet. Last night we shot well but had 21 turnovers. Saturday, we limited our TOs but couldn't hit a 3 to save our life. Before that against BC, we couldn't do anything right, etc. Alex and Joey have both played a good game at the same time once this year. Hurt, Jack, and Javin are hit or miss. Wendell doesn't shoot outside the paint anymore. Cash is shooting like 20% from deep the last 7 games.
But, I think we are improving. Just wait until we start firing on all cylinders.
