That's just a crutch. The QB play is fine. The receiver play is not. Baker quit on the team last year, and has never come back. It looks like Juice has quit this year. They are terrible, but worse they are soft. Blaming that on Stephen Johnson, who is one of the toughest guys on the team with one of the biggest hearts, is BS, frankly.
That has nothing to do with it. If the ball hits you in the hands, it has to be caught. Period.
It's like they don't do catching drills in practice...
I know SJ has his shortcomings but Bone and Johnson dropping balls that hit their hands is unacceptable.
It's not just dropped balls either, it's dropping them at the most crucial times.
The inability to just plain and simple catch as well make plays at crucial times has cost this team.

The drops are at crucial times, making them even worse. It help our QB tremendously if our receivers would catch passes that hit them in the hands!!
I think the lack of a passing game to this point in the season has hurt our wr. They have had next to none when it comes to opportunities to this point. They go into the play expecting a run or a bad pass. They haven't been able to build up any confidence in themselves or and real in-game chemistry with the qb. Only thing they have probably build in a one dimensional offense is rust.
You may be on to something but that even still is no excuse at all. These guys are killing our offense lately. Literally the entire group hasn't made a play they should not made all year. No incredible catches...or even tough catches. All they catch is balls right at them with no defensive pressure...and sometimes they don't even make those.
They've dropped catchable passes right in their hands.
Johnson is what he is, the receivers haven't helped him on the obvious simple catches.
No kidding. I'm not defending Johnson as a great QB cuz he does throw bad passes but he had several in the first half that were right in the hands of receivers that they just plain dropped, ne excuse for it. Johnson isn't a great throwing QB but the receivers are also killing him today. This game could be very different with a couple of those balls being caught.
No it's completely unacceptable. The biggest drop of all happened last week with the potential dagger from Badet to game changing int. Its completely inexcusable for all the drops something has to give.
I may be wrong but in my opinion the most reliable pass catchers are Conrad, Badet and Richardson. For some reason he can't get a good throw to Conrad. Badets out now and has his mistakes. Richardson is young.
I think the wrs are shocked and caught off guard when one actually hits them in the hands. Hinshaw and Grab need to do some major work on his mechanics.
When you rarely throw the ball and when the ball does get thrown it's usually off target it messes with a receivers head. That's a big reason we see a lot of drops on the passes that are actually catchable.
If we actually threw it often and made them catchable then our receivers would be engaged in the game and concentrating. 90% of this is on the coaches and Johnson.

SJ has had his struggles but looks much better today.
This BS excuse that they are caught off guard when the pass hits them in the hands is absolutely pathetic.

Excuses like this are a major joke and anyone that has ever played the game would not accept this suggestion.
The same lame excuse was made last year.
This is not only NOT the best group of wr's, it is the most UNCLUTCH group we have ever had.
My reference was to pocket presence, feet set, read option and minor adjustments. He has never been accurate.
SJ is not the answer and needs to improve greatly before being granted the starting spot next year - as I have continually mentioned.
But jeez.. drive killing drops are inexcusable and these lame-*** suggestions that a SEC wr who catch 500 balls a week in practice is so shocked and surprised that a ball hits his hands is comical.
