You're nothing but a troll and its obvious. He didn't call out the fan base....nice click bait. Nothing he said in that article is not true and he has to say that.

Not sure who the OP is, but Tyra totally called out the fans. It was a complete calling out. You can't call out a fan base more.

He has a point though. Declining attendance is loud and clear to admin that a change is needed BUT it also can turn away potential recruits.

No pain, No gain

Just two more home games anyway. After we get outscored 100-21 these next two away games, not only will fans not show up, they'll remember Tyra blaming them for the Cards' woes. Also, he's not going to have to worry about fans being at the last game. They just won't be Cardinal fans.

Scum... This tells me Brohm won't be here next year. My guess is IF he fires BP uk boy neil brown will be our next coach. I'm sure a majority of our fans would welcome uk brown with open arms. Softest fanbase in all of sports.

Neal brown WILL NEVER BE HEAD COACH HERE.

2. He is encouraging fans to attend games. He is doing his job.

3. He knows he has to replace Petrino.

So he is walking and chewing gum at the same time.

4. Youre flat out wrong. OP fail.

I disagree with Tyra on this. I don’t think most fans were protesting, I simply think the consumers don’t want to waste their time with an inferior product. And potential recruits are way more affected by the poor product than empty seats. Anyways Vince knows that but I think he’s throwing a small bone of effort to try and get some fans out for the last couple games.

His motivation is likely money, too. It's all about revenue.

You are correct. Bobby will be replaced, when we are 1-10 after the Kentucky game. Tyra is just doing his job.

So, what was turning away recruits before the fans decided to stay home? Where is the LJ / Heisman bump that we heard about and why wasn’t Petrino able to capitalize on that to get all those high three and four star guys? Lack of people in the seats hurting recruiting is largely overblown - kids go to schools for lots of reasons and that’s way down on the list.

Fan support is a factor in recruiting. Team performance impacts both recruiting and attendance. The bigger issue impacting recruits is they don't know if this staff is going to be around. It is easy to recruit against Louisville at this point.

Did anyone actually read what he said. Everything he said is true. Attendance absolutely effects recruiting and if our fans stop attending it can effect who we end up with. That’s what Vince’s point was. Heck half us said that on here.

And to the nit wit OP Vince has already stated money wouldn’t be an issue if the move is needed. Vince regardless of what some say is UofL thru and thru. There is no doubt about that.

i do not believe for one single bit fan attendance effects recruiting, the coaching staff and the school campus are 100% the reasons and if those fail attendance drops but it plain and simple starts with your coach. kids want to play for that coach or that school and none ever mention the attendance numbers. i am a TJ fan but he should have never rehired petrino, too much baggage and that petrino's character itself has kept ten times more recruits away than any attendance figures. let's not ever forget, many parents won't ever consider louisville as a school for their children because of our football coach's improprieties and past bball coach's torubles. one has luckily changed and we are instantly seeing the positive effects. the other hasn't and we are instantly seeing the negative effects. so blaming the fans for poor attendance is like blaming the gun for shooting someone.

If you don’t think it matters then you’re very naive. Players more than once have said that atmosphere matters. One of our players just sent out a text last Saturday complaining about the lack of attendance. If it doesn’t matter why would he complain. Also CCS and JLS both mentioned it. I guess they were just making it up.

So if it doesn’t matter why do we even bother having a stadium? Just ridiculous.

The point was to keep our fans engaged so we don’t lose out on recruits. Nothing more nothing less. Not a TJ issue or Vince issue. It’s a fan issue and always has been here.

We are building a dedicated fan base it’s somewhere around 35,000 to 40,000 fans that show up no matter the conditions and win loss record. Beyond that we have a bunch of fair weather fans and party fans. That’s the way it is for now. But growing a fan base takes time.

I mean no disrespect to the University of Louisville fan base because what you have built is commendable. Some of the decisions by people in charge have been questionable at best. We have no money but we expand the stadium...The city needs the arena to make money to pay off the debt but the university agrees to a contract where they can't make money... Academics get put on probation...I'm not going trough the rest of it. We as a sate need UL to be strong to help this state move forward. Quit punching yourself in the face. I don't mean this as a jab at UL but to point out some of the hypocrisy has gone for the last few years. I will be interested in your comments.

If you truly want a very strong university in Louisville, then I’m sure you’ll help elect politicians in Frankfort that support that cause.

I've been University of Louisville fan my entire life, and it doesn't matter to me if someone writes U of L or UL..

Cause SuCkS fans say UL while Cards fans say UofL.

Yeah UL 86 as a moniker makes sense, but when one mentions our team its UofL.

Capiche, or do you need a more thorough explanation..............

Its called an arch rivalry for a reason.

I hope SuCkS goes 0-13 every season. The 13th loss is they could somehow lose the blew-white spring game.

Its ironic how you guys were predicting Petrino would leave Louisville again, and now its the yall dont have the finances crap.

The money is there. Besides, the University can operate in the Red, before righting the ship.

Plus you made a backhanded comment about the off field crap.

In other words, you were being a Rival

No I have no clue what you are talking about. You are in left field compared to all my friends who are fans of other college football teams. I work for a company based in Louisville and, yes most are UK graduates, but many of them pull for U of L (is that better) but you are the biggest sickoo I have been around in a long time.
