Feeto will pick #8 Loyola to “upset” #5 Brother Rice.
Not trying to stir things up because I think Rice is a solid team this year but outside of beating a strong Marist team they have not been challenged in last 2 weeks. C-M is not the C-M of recent past and Fenwick is just plain out horrible this year. Not sure Loyola belongs at #8 but also don’t think BR is a #5. Not critcizing Edgy cause the man knows his stuff. Enough of my rambling let’s get on with week 4!
Bring on weeks 5,7,8,9. We won't know what we need to until then. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt on BR given this season's love-in for them.
A certain writer of another gender once again refuses the recognize CG in their top 25 and just when I'm about to call out the fish wrap, Edgy spots CG #1 in 6A. Thanks for talking me off the ledge Edgy. Number one is big and as much as homer I am, I'll take it as a wait and see how the rest of the season goes before I'm all in.
She may give them the 25 spot if they beat Huntley but leave Huntley higher because it’ll be a fliuke.

Yes, I would........ but I really don't see LA as an underdog in this one. Beth Long has LA ahead of BR. I can't stand hearing all the crybabies whining about how it's not an upset. Therefore, LA won't be this weeks pick.

The real question is why do you care about rankings? Isn't the only thing that matters is where your team ends up at season's end and that would be state title?

Can't disagree with you. Generally, I use them as a reference point and take into consideration the source. The one you were referring to I just pay no mind.

Nope, I do the same thing. Just makes me wonder how “expert” they really are at highschool football. I look at it this way, if your in that role, you at the very least should know teams records, opponents they played and their records, and stand out statistics from those wins/loses. I’m not in that role nor do I want or claim to be. I will say it again, I only follow escc teams. That’s why I don’t pick other teams or conferences.
I just look for consistency in the rankings and reason. All of the published rankings have weird quirks and some unreasonable stuff somewhere, but it's the nature of the beast.
I ‘member when a group of pioneers began a new ranking system that looked at rooting out inconsistencies with sound logic and reason. And then some outsider would call them out on certain picks and logic and then all heck would break out til Friday and the madness started all over again on the following Tuesday. They called them the Dark something somethin’.
