Where is the outrage over Brown trying to use transfers to fill in recruiting classes?

During the last coaches stay, if you read these boards there were daily critiscisms and attacks about transfers being a part of each class. Now its being championed!?!

things that make you go hmmmm

I know what your underlying take is all about, but unfortunately, college football has turned into pro sports, when it comes to people leaving, new people coming in.

Most teams it seems are losing many players per year through the relaxed transfer policy. I think Michigan State has already had 13 or 14 transfer out this year alone.

I would like to see the rule revert back to what it used to be, requiring transfers to sit out a year. Otherwise, everybody in attendance is going to need to purchase a gameday program.

Yes he's acting as if things haven't changed in college sports. Furthermore when you come in with a lot of holes in the roster you either get immediate help or you get fired.

the previous staff did the same exact things and was attacked for it.
Its no different.

Hypocrisy and double standards are rampant. Sad and inexcusable.

I know you're just trying to be that guy but if you don't realize how different things are today I don't know what to tell you.

The instant eligibility is the issue now! Prior to this people sat out a year unless they were a graduate student! This no longer applies! They are free to move instantly and be instantly eligible! College free agency!

Take heed:
"Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'" - Dylan

Transfers were Holgorsen #1 way to recruit. Current staff usually takes 6 to 8.

Previous staff relied on the transfers and not recruits. Big difference.

Its a bunch of lies to pretend things are sooooo different.

Two years ago is not so different from today.

Four years isn't.

Changes have been happening to college football as they must for awhile.

HCDH had NO CHOICE but to bring in transfers to bolster WVU's team---for various reasons. Previous staff leaving a massive hole in scholarship players. Switching to a new league where much more depth was required. Players having more access to transfer.

And he was absolutely castigated for it.

Now, the new coach who has produced pitiful results in comparison, and pushed out numerous players or uninspired them to the point many have left with eligibility remaining, and you are championing him for using transfers.

Hypocrisy plain and simple. Coach worship. If HCDH was attacked for using transfers, then Brown should be held to the exact same standard.

THIS is why WVU football is in the dregs.

Give Brown the same 8 years then we can talk. Until then go get Dana a new straw.

You're right that Holgs had a huge hole to climb out of because the beloved Good Ol' Bill left the cupboards bare in talent depth and numbers. Sure, there were some good players, but not nearly enough.

Then........ Holgs leaves and it happened again. We were woefully low in total numbers. Low 70's in schollies. Depth on OL and DL was horrible. Add the portal option for all players and that adds to the problems.
