Didn't we help you with Cincy clubs in another thread a few months back? You didn't write down any of those suggestions we gave you?

Dammit Sean.

Cool bar to chill at...nice restaurants, live music or a decent DJ or whatever....just entertainment of some sort...

OTR is the best area in Cincy these days. All within a few blocks, off the top of my head:

Bars:

Sundry & Vice- love this place, cool atmosphere, hipster-made cocktails
Neons- great courtyard and patio for outdoor drinking
Japps- DJ and dancing
Wiseguys- pizza downstairs at Good Fellas, upstairs is a bar
Rhinehaus- hole in the wall soccer/sports bar, my favorite spot but not much to it
The Lackman- chill craft beer pub, another favorite
16 Bit- if you like arcade bars
Half Cut- craft beer
Rhinegeist- brewery in a huge old warehouse deep in OTR, they have a new rooftop area as well (take an Uber, you don't want to walk in that area especially at night)
Liberty Bar & Bottle- chill wine and craft beer bar
MOTR- live music, great atmosphere, hipster type place

Food:

Taft Ale House- brewery in an old church, good beer, cool set up
Bakersfield- tacos and beer
Kaze- sushi and bar, great atmosphere
The Eagle- fried chicken
A Tavola- pizza
Senate- gourmet street food, hot dogs and such
Lacheys- cool sports bar with decent food
Krueger- great rooftop patio and good bar food

Agree with most of what WCC said except he left off the best food in OTR- Gomez (right next to Half Cut). Order a turtle, go inside Half Cut, have a beer or two, get your food brought to you, profit.

Kaze and Eagle are on point too though. Be prepared to wait at Eagle. I guess that's kinda their thing.

Ive never had to wait at Eagle, but I always sit at the bar and order. I rarely get a table anywhere I go unless its Ruby's.

Chad's list pretty much nailed it. Only thing he left off for food that Im a big fan of is Abigail St.

I'm not a foodie by any means. My suggestions are all about drinking and atmosphere. I'm betting Sean is coming for a soccer match, so doubting he wants to make reservations at Salazar. But maybe I'm wrong.

I'm hitting Abigail St. tonight. Definitely getting the grilled octopus, what else do you recommend?

I'd try to eat at Bakersfield, a Tavala, or Eagle. There will likely be a long wait at each so put your name in at each restaurant and then go to Lackman's for a drink while you wait. They'll text you when it's ready. Have a drink at Taft's Ale House and Sundry and Vice. If it's nice out go to the roof at Krueger's. Or just wander down Vine St and there are a lot of other bars/restaurants to have a drink.

I bet Sean is still in the club rollin' on X and playing with glow sticks.

***Snackdown Report***

Ate at Abigail Street with my wife last night. 5-stars. A+. Excellent.

We had about a half hour wait at 7:30. Stood by the bar and had a few cocktails and a cheese plate.

Abigail Street is a wine bar/Mediterranean tapas restaurant. It features small plate menu items that are meant to share.

They recommend 2 per person and that's what we did. 1 less would've been plenty.

We had bouillabaisse, gnocchi, scallops and grilled octopus.

All 4 were incredible, but the scallops and the gnocchi were my favorites.

The bill was very reasonable.

We drank a lot. My wife had 2 quartinos of wine plus 2 full glasses the bartender gave her to sample. I had an old fashioned plus 2 Truth IPAs.

The total bill was a little less than $150.

The place looks really cool and the atmosphere was great. The service couldn't have been better.

Afterward, we walked across the street to Taste of Belgium for dessert. I had a few coffees and a banana Nutella crepe. My wife had more wine and ordered a s'mores waffle. All good.

The area is just incredible. OTR has undergone a complete transformation and I highly recommend going.

Taste of Belgium is getting ready to do a pretty big remodel - should be done in about a month.

Sorry Willy, missed your post yesterday. Good choices, love the scallops, next time try the lamb sliders and the meatballs. That place is excellent.

Yes - very popular dinner and night spot. The city spent $47 million cleaning up Washington Park and it's amazing. Tons of bars and restaurants in the area.

Almost forgot, the streetcar this fall is going to make things a lot more convenient for those of us working downtown or attending a ballgame. Phase 1 will basically loop between Walnut and Main downtown, across 12th and Central Parkway then between Elm and Race in OTR where things can still be a little unsafe in spots.

Yes - would like to see it go to Clifton soon, but with the state of our city council and mayor, it could be a long time.

Sure, but a Clifton stop that doesn't include a route thru Jefferson to the Zoo and back won't get as many riders during the summer when school is out. This is also a route much closer to Pill Hill as opposed to the idea of a much narrower West Clifton. That could also attract more healthcare workers living downtown.
