The lack of energy is a problem because it is a holdover from last year. If Pope can't figure out how to motivate these guys then he needs to get a hype man for the job.

No one owes you an explanation of anything.

Still waiting for an explanation on how we can overreact to those glaring discrepancies.
Because without your two primary playmaker, there was a significant lack of cohesiveness not to mention the fact that it's one exhibition game that's all it is and yes, you're overreacting. The other way to look at it as you're completely valuing this exhibition game, but not the one against Purdue

No pg was one thing, but the way they played us is the biggest concern because it is EXACTLY how the SEC will play us. Bully ball, hold, hack push and shove and you have to be able to drive kick and/or finish at the rim.
Having a pg would def help this, but we seemed lost on D and panicked when they got up in our grill on offense. This will cost you many games in the future if you cannot fix it.

I think we are soft, hopefully Pope remembers how Pitino coached defense and gets these guys to work.
Amen!!

Good thing this isn’t what a 22 million lineup looks like since probably around 6 million worth of players didn’t play last night. The overreaction is just ridiculous.
Soooooooo…a lineup at $16M is still top 25 paid, right? That look like a top 25 team?

Gonna be another very tough year based on last night's performance and overall lack of a visible pulse.

In all the years of following message boards I don't think I've ever read as much BullSh!# as I have read on here tonight. We lose an exhibition game down 2 starters and suddenly it's as if the world is ending. A couple of the idiotic ideas I see people running with.
1. Pope is too " nice". You people don't have the first clue of how he interacts with his team behind closed doors, NONE.
2. SO this is what a 22 million dollar roster buys you. Never mind that about 6 million of it was sitting on the bench not even playing. Never mind that several of these guys have never played together before and that the freshman haven't even played a real college game. The season HASNT EVEN STARTED YET. My God you people are INFANTS.
3. Based on tonight's performance Pope can't coach defense and we let quick guards blow by us at will. Never mind that 2 of our best defenders didn't play and probably our best defender hasn't practiced yet.
4. Oweh is mediocre and undeserving of his pre season POY rankings. Never mind that he missed the entire summer with turf toe and has only been going full speed for about 2 weeks
Some of you guys are just miserable people and will never be satisfied with anything but a title. We might win one this year but the odds say no. In about 125 years we have won 8. If it's title or bust you guys need to find something else to follow because the vast majority of seasons that's not happening. To push the panic button before the blasted season even STARTS is madness.

Lol, please sit down somewhere. The day that UK fans are okay with getting waxed at home by a middle of the road (18-16 last year) Georgetown team, is the day we are no longer Kentucky.

Don't remember saying I or anyone else should be happy with a loss. If you can't see the BS agenda driven crap going on that's fine, I call em like I see em.

Let’s be honest…everything, whether it’s we are title bound, we are NIT bound, we are middle of the road, etc are overreactions regardless. We only have a sample size of two exhibition games that do not count, and we did so with incomplete lineups. The real games start Tuesday — but I don’t think we are really going to have an idea of how good this team is until Champions Classic. Even Louisville will be hard to judge us on either way because that’s not a physical type of team. Either UL or UK will shoot better/defend better and rebound to win. However, I’m looking at that Michigan State game and thinking that will be telling. As inconsistent as Izzo teams have been in recent times, they always play a familiar brand of physical, aggressive defense and disciplined Halfcourt offense. I’ll know most of what I want to know after that game. Just my thoughts

The day a championship is won in October let me know, ill petition the ncaa that theres no reason to even play a season anymore.

No one says they're cool with losing, but they're saying you guys are unstable bc even losing regular season games means nothing. You either win or you get better...you play to make the tournament then work to win 6. Some ppl cannot grasp this.

How on earth did Florida lose to a 13 loss Georgia team last year...they shouldve quit the season right then and there

Remember that time the 92 dream team got blown out by the college select team in a scrimmage? Should've withdrew from tge Olympics i guess

All this tells me, that for the maniacs, instead of jumping off bridges, if we would've had the regular exhibitions against transy and athletes in action they're entire mental stability would be different right now

Ps....no one has went undefeated in over 40 years...what's crazy, right now we're stil undefeated

It's pretty obvious that some here have never stepped foot in a locker room. More obviously that some have not played at a level beyond church league. Here is what you don't know:

1. You have no idea what the pre-game instructions were at the start of that practice.

2. You have no idea what the workouts were the days prior or morning of that particular practice game.

3. No one knows what the offensive or defensive strategies were prior to that scrimmage or what was being emphasized or tested in a meaningless contest.

4. No one know if or to what degree the team was told to avoid injuries.

5. No one is sure how much effort was given to operating without either point guard in position.

These guys are not church leaguers. They know when to go after it and when not to. They do not invest their personal self-image in a meaningless practice whilst sitting in a lazy boy. Nothing was on the line in this practice unless an over exuberant fan did that to themselves. There was nothing to be lost unless a gambler dropped some cash while stupidly betting on a practice session. Nobody of importance has any sympathy for either type of individual.

If you set your own hair on fire, that's on you. Just don't expect many to care. Don't be surprised with many think it's funny.

For sure. Doubt we’ll do much better than key players injured but walking away with wins against Duke, top 10 Tennessee twice, national champion Florida, etc and a sweet 16 year 1 with a roster thrown together in a month. From all accounts we’re just looking at a final four or title this year as it stands now.

We are 0-0 with a top 10 team, try and remember.

I think we are in / were in the same type of profession, maybe the same. I think you know as well as I do reason and logical thinking comes few and far between.

The disorder today is incredible. Add the narcissism on the rise….
