Heritage fans live in this world where they are convinced that they would have won a championship in 1a every other year for the last decade. They are in complete denial of the fact that the top teams in 1a are usually as good, or close, to the top teams in 2a. The biggest difference between the 2 classifications is its alot harder to get to the 4th or 5th round of 2a, because there are more quality teams than in 1a. They refuse to accept this reality, and refute it at any opportunity that arises, usually after a Mitchell fan reminds them that the Mountaineers have been almost a sure shot to play in the western final every year for the last several years. Junior here, the newest slime to crawl out of the green swamp on the wrong side of the river, is just regurgitating the same stuff he read while he was a player, and daddy Joey wouldn't let him post. Now, as a has-been, he has unfettered access to spew whatever diatribe that he feels like. No matter how asinine.
Our girls won the 2a championship in 96 and 02. Heritage has won one with a Mitchell county girl leading their team. The best football teams they’ve had were led by Mitchell county boys.
In 2009,Mountain heritage would have never MADE it to the championship, much less WON it. 09 Albemarle would have crushed 09 Heritage.
In 2017, Heritage would have likely made it to the 1aa championship, but would have met the same Tarboro beatdown that they did in 09.

As for albemale they cheated robbisville out of the win, even the refs apologize to rville, heritage beat rville that year by 20 points. One thing for sure Heritage program is superior to mitchell and everyone knows ir.
Lol what are you even talking about? Robbinsville didnt play Albemarle or Mountain Heritage in 2009. Albemarle did have to vacate 4 wins in 2010 (the year they beat Mitchell in the 4th round) but they didn't apologize to anyone that I'm aware of. Nice try tho.
Well if you talking about all Heritage fans I said I would have liked to seen how our teams from the past few years would have done....but there were some great teams in 1a and 1aa both. Not saying we would have won anything it was just a hypothetical. I would have much rather seen us get by reidsville.

Ok in 2009 robbinsville got beat by mt airy by 1 , the knights got cheated everyone knows they were the best team in 1a that year. Even the refs apologize it was so bad. Robbinsville would have been state champs that yearn

What speedy teams lol, you guys couldn't beat cherokee on your home field lol. That's one year for sure we would have won state. Bottomline Heritage is superior to mitchell like I said previous another beat down coming next week, then all the excuses will start lol

Y’all going to get beat some now that you don’t have a 20 year old quarterback from spruce pine, a 19 year old athlete from Madison and two all conference linemen from spruce pine. Your only saving grace is you hired a guy from Mitchell. If you hadn’t you’d still be o-11. You wait your all star team is done. In the next three years you’ll finish 3rd or 4th. You don’t have much talent. U talk about our kids. Our sophomore qb is a better athlete than anyone y’all have right now. Y’all are so cocky. You weren’t that way when Joey started out losing his first 23 out of 27. If you hadn’t held a bunch of kids back and borrowed the best from two counties you’d have been average. Always a excuse when Heritage beats you, it's always wr will get you next year. Excuses must be part of Mitchell program, try getting in weight room, working on team speed. When you guys beat Heritage, beat your chest please stop making excuses.
You say some of the dumbest things, you know? Speed is a naturally occurring physical trait, like height. A person is born with speed, it is not developed. If that were the case, then every NFL player would run 3.9 40's. You can shave maybe 1-2 tenths off thru intense focused PT, but to say "work on team speed" is dumb af.

So you are saying Heritage, with 700 kids in 2017, could have won the >500 adm small 1a? It would have been embarrassing if they didn't.

You can increase speed, running short sprints, squats. That's why Heritage is always more athletic up front , think about it you guys are always bigger on the line we always win the battle up front.

I plan on this being my last Heritage post on this thread because it is Owen/Mitchell but........Steven Ray played at Wake Forest in basketball, there have been several kids over the years that actually received D1 offers but for one reason or another personal or whatever chose not to pursue it. I'm sure there have been kids do the same thing at Mitchell. Just pointing out that the statement Yancey hasn't produced a D1 male athlete is incorrect. Heck there is a player at Heritage right now with a PWO offer from UNC. Last I checked UNC is D1. Not to mention Anthony Silvers although played D2 football did play a couple of years of Arena League.

Not to mention Larry Honeycutt, who was pre-Mountain Heritage, but played for cane river. He got a scholarship to NC State the same recruiting class as Tommy Burleson. He wound up with disiplinary troubles however, and ultimately didn't play.

Robbinsville played Mtn Heritage close for a half in 09 without our ALL STATE running back. It wouldve been close with him. Think of Heritage with out there good running back that year but worse. A healthy Robbinsville, Mt Airy and WRH would've been tough for MH but they would've been favored probably.
