I think they've lossened up on those a little but I haven't lived there for 10+ years so I really couldn't tell you.Does PA still have those archaic laws on the sale of beer and liquor?
Yes. Maryland is the same but not quite as bad.Does PA still have those archaic laws on the sale of beer and liquor?
We should be willing to "look" at anything. I, for one, would not be for sports betting as of now, but would welcome a review and example of what it would look like. But get real. This state won't even discuss recreation weed, medical marijuana or high-speed Internet coverage. We're just going to sit back and hope the next coal boom is on the horizon.with the budget issues WV has, should this be something they look at?
PA is 'testing' beer sales in super markets. Of course, beer distributors are claiming the sky is falling, as it should on them.Does PA still have those archaic laws on the sale of beer and liquor?

Some people might rather bet on sports than video poker or table games is my thought. We already have the casinos and lottery tickets on every corner as well as the video poker places all over the place. Other than points shaving and those kinds of things, I don't see how sports betting is any different.

I think maybe I misunderstood your response.Yes ... my argument wasn't "why do we need sports betting when we have everything else", it was "with everything else we have, why not sports betting too". Or maybe I misunderstood your response. Either way, I agree with you. I would even argue that sports betting is less pure chance than careful analytics, and therefore a lesser form of gambling. Not much different than day trading on the stock market.
