This would possibly be a tie game if not for a missed and blocked FG.

Love's stat line is better than Mahomes. Wow.

Who was the greatest NFL backup? Frank Reich? Paid a large amount of money to site the bench, but could play when called upon. Others?

Still remember this board calling Lamar Jackson a bust when he was drafted. LOL

Cliff Stoudt?
Not sure about the if he could play part. I cant remember if he ever got a chance. I'm pretty sure though he earned an NFL pention and never got into a game.

George Blanda (behind Daryl Lamonica?)? Earl Morrall (for both Unitas and Griese)? Steve Young (for Montana)? Aaron Rodgers (for Favre)? Roger Staubach (for Craig Morton)?

As I recall, Stoudt backed up Bradshaw for years before going to the Cardinals to start for a year before retiring. I don’t think he had a good year.
My memory may well be off on this information.

He led the greatest comeback in NFL playoff history vs the Warren Moon Oilers

Who knew he wouldn’t turn out like RG3 did? I love watching Jackson, a wonderful talent. I also really dig watching his relationship with Harbaugh, there’s obviously complete trust between the two of them.

At the time he lead the greatest comeback in college football history while at MD vs Miami. He came off the bench to do so. I think MD was down 35-0? At halftime

now all those guys are pikers compared to Don Strock for the Dolphins. Iirc he didn’t play a snap for like 10 yrs before he finally came in to save the day !

He backed up Boomer Esiason for three years at MD and came off the bench ( after being injured his senior year) and led the comeback against the Bernie Kosar led Miami team. Forgot Frank was a Pennsylvania kid.
