FWIW, the "OK" track I belong to (Champions) has been the US Open qualifier and site of two Ky Opens, won by Steve Flesch and JB Holmes. Also, just about to reopen, new owners closed it last August and totally redid the greens with poa resistant grass developed by Purdue Univ, also cut way down on rough around greens. Really pumped to see what the place looks like.

Hey Tskware, when is it opening again? Probably some good new member options? You can get on Keene Run as well?

ABH swears Traditions is the best course in the state (he hasn't seen Olde Stone)....one of my best buddies is a member there, but I've yet to take him up on his offers.

Well hope there is a Eli this week. Tornado touched down in Earlington, anyone knows that area, moving northeast, MCC is right in the way. Good news, not a F4 like before,,, I guess. J/K it was a small one. My uncle (judge executive there, whoo hoo) told me minimal damage.

I've won the Eli many times, you guys should know my name, if not, you know my game. I hope Andy Roberts wins some money soon so he can afford to play me again. Drainthechub knows what I'm talking about.

Why has this thread turned into a DLeague/GYERO pt. 2???

My brother was hitting those soccer balls a month or so ago. Watching those little bastards roll across the green was annoying as heck.

I hadn't even thought about them on the green. Yeah I'd probably grab it and hit it into the first pond we came too if one of my buddies played it. :chairshot::joy:

Wasioto Winds doesn't get talked up much because of its location in the state but it's a fun/interesting/challenging track.

I got an invite to the two course open house....interesting how they are going to manage both courses. Did Danny buy Champions too??

Danny did not buy it, sold Keene to son in law, who also bought Champions from Central Bank. He and his partner manage both, do a great job, IMO.

Danny has always been a top notch guy...have known him and his family for years. He definitely has done a great job for golf in Central KY.

I would whip you all on the links because its the internet where I am a +4 index, won multiple state titles, and played on tour. Kidding aside, I am just happy to be in the upper single digits and at least have a competent game that prevents me from looking like a total hack now.

My GHIN has crept up to a 6.5 over the last year. Two years ago it was 2.3 and that's the lowest it's been. Tee to green I'm fine. Putting is where I pick up too many strokes. Lately I'm as apt to make a 10 footer as I am a 4 footer. I still have fun though.

^ where do you live, ymmot? Never could tell if you were serious in the golf threads, seems so.

My Bag:

Ping I20 (8.5) Driver & 3W
Old *** Titleist ******** 19* hybrid (need upgrade here, bad)
Mizuno 3-P, MP25
Titleist Tour Issue TVD 52 Gap (bent to 51)
Titleist Vokey 56
Scotty Newport Select 2/Bettinardi

...I can't hit a hybrid, but it's mostly mental. To be honest, I've never really given them a fair shot, something about hitting a 'wood' into a green messes with me.

Finally picked up a used one a few years back -- thing is awful and probably 10+ years old -- and I never hit it.

Everyone loves them, so I need to figure something out there. Carried a Fat Ping Zing 1-iron through HS and College...then usually had a 2-iron in future sets, but that seems impractical due to all the improvements in hybrids. I know I'll never give my up 3-iron, but definitely need to find something I like to fill my huge gap between my 3i & 3w.

My Ghin gets smoked by my home course's weak-*** course rating (69), which is fine by me as it stays about 2 strokes higher than it would pretty much anywhere else. Went 2 months last summer without going above 76, with numerous 72/73s sprinkled in (including a few tourneys) and it settled in at a 4.1 to start this season. Course doesn't play easy, at least for me (greens are about the size of my office desk)...90% of my best scores come elsewhere.

-Driving up to Montgomery IN (lol), Country Oaks GC, for a tournament Saturday. Longshot, but anyone every played it?

Ha, look at all these Cameron ballers in here.

Anyone got a lead on a headcover I can get for mine under a grand? [laughing][eyeroll]

...had a good golfing buddy at Wildwood that is as extreme as it gets with his Scotty Cameron stuff. His collection is over $200,000 -- and has gotten to know Scotty personally over the years, even stayed at his home(s). Travels around from everywhere from California to Thailand to play in his special little events.

It really is like a cult for the extremists, check out some of the message boards devoted to it -- his life revolves around Scotty Cameron, it's beyond bizarre. My bud has freaking Cameron "collector" ([eyeroll])ball markers worth more than my entire set of clubs.

I like Molitors for casual rounds, but the new Slazenger is the best ball out there when it's a competitive round imo.

If I'm being honest, I don't really like my Cameron or the way it feels that much...at least for costing me $450. I bought it b/c it was a pimp *** custom job.

Plus, out of nowhere I was no longer able to "see" the line. I pretty much don't give a **** how a putter feels, I can adjust to that. It all boils down to seeing the line/setup -- and with me, that always has an expiration date for some reason.

I almost bought one of those damn "See More" putters it started off so bad this year -- but then I found that Bettinardi in the garage, and it's working for now.

Got my Cameron from another poster on here about 10 years ago. He won it in a scramble and already had one. Paid him $100 for it. Headcover is long gone. Got a generic neoprene cover on it now. The Cameron cult people are nuts.
