Some pot shutter is posting unsubstantiated rumors. I don’t think there’s anything new about his situation right now.

Our young players showed a lot at the end of the season. I doubt we’ll make the dance next year but a winning record is possible if they grow and develop as players typically do under CCC and staff.
Marty’s a massive loss but we should have NIL cash to spend.
I was afraid to raise my hand and ask for fear I might meet the definition. I suppose one possible explanation is a vowel typo.
That's my concern about next year also. The Cats need a lot. I'd add a rock-solid, 3-pt shooter to this list.
But I'm wondering if this defense shaped up enough by the end of the season that you don't totally need to add that to the list. I wonder if everybody was beginning to get accustomed to the switching enough that they weren't constantly a step behind as they they were in the first two-thirds of the season.
Not an easy defensive scheme when three or four of your players on the floor are playing it for the first time ... and one of them is 3'6".
We need either true center - just a decent one - and a true star scoring guard or a center and several players in the aggregate.
Sounds like the same shopping list as last year.
Gotta get positional size. The best teams in the big ten were BIG this year. (And not just the Centers. Lots of big guards too)
I think I would be neutral if I saw Page entering the portal. I hope he stays and has a good attitude. But I will also assume that if he enters the portal, there were chemistry issues and it's for the best.
His chemistry looked incredible before he got sick at the end of the season.
Transplant the energy of Fitzmorris into his body and he’d be All Big 10. One of the most confounding players to ever suit up in the purple.
There are money issues to consider too. I’d also like to keep him in the roster and have him be a significant bench contributor at worst and keep his upside, but if he can command like a million bucks to fill a key role at OSU or something and we have to decide between keeping him or having the money to sign a star guard, I’m letting him go and taking my chances with who we’ve got. So there are resource considerations we aren’t privy to.
if we get to April 7 and the news comes out that he’s going to portal I’m going to go “oh damn, shoot,” not “good/whatever” and definitely not “panic, disaster, fire!”
We should take money from the women’s basketball, softball, and lacrosse programs to improve men’s basketball, baseball, and wrestling.
We may be stuck with Title 9 but it doesn’t mandate we waste money on losing or underperforming programs.

We should take money from softball, a perennial Big Ten power, and sometimes national power, as well as lacrosse, which is considered one of the giants in the sport ...... to improve baseball, which has incredible obstacles to overcome, and wrestling, which hasn't been remotely competitive in an NIL world.
Let alone incur drastic federal Title IX penalties to do so.

We won’t incur Title iX penalties. That is about scholarships not the new wild west of NIL.
Our wrestling program was top 10 a few years ago. A few hundred thousand in NIL cash might get us right back.
Honestly who cares about women’s sports. Nobody watches them and fewer care.

I don't think the Big Ten Network and the larger sports media world is bought into the concept that men's sports are everything. I think they are making a big push for WBB in particular with WVB following on. Need live broadcast hours plus increasing the fan base of women. So I think the revenue sharing cap will come under a lot of pressure, both legally as women press for equal pay and TV wise as the media presses for an improved product.
I don’t see the revenue sharing coming under any pressure. If the ladies don’t generate an equal share of the revenue, they would have a tough case to make for securing an equal share of the cap.
As far as the media, of course they want an improved product from WBB, WVB, and other Women’s sports, but they won’t push that if it degrades the two Men’s cash cows.
Your argument is the same argument US pro men's soccer made concerning the World Cup distribution and we know how that turned out. It may not be immediate but soon enough the women will be pushing for equal revenue share. Watch.
Relative to media, women's and men's success aren't mutually exclusive. My point is it is obvious that media is pushing women's sports now and that balloon will only get bigger.

The women’s argument for the World Cup made sense. It’s a tournament, not a league product. The Women draw TV audience at least as good as the Men and USA Woman’s team is a contender for the Cup unlike the Men.
Now let’s talk revenue from a league. There is a reason that the likes of Ronaldo and Messi get paid over 50x the salary of the highest paid Women’s player in the world, Trinity Rodman. Ronaldo salary is over $200M a year, Rodman $2M. Hundreds of men’s players make more than Rodman. The reason is pretty obvious too , revenue generated.
Very simply, to me it’s about eyeballs on the product. Try writing a media rights deal for Women’s sports only. Good luck. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but my state school degree did teach the laws of supply and demand. The big two Men’s sports deserve the lion share of the revenue only because they produce almost all of this revenue. If there is ever equal distribution of revenue between genders get ready for a lot fewer collegiate athletes. It would eliminate all scholarships for all Men’s sports not called Football and Basketball and also have an unintended consequence of reducing women’s scholarships to strictly match the numbers of Men’s Football and Basketball roster, slightly over 100.

The revenue sharing cap is already under extreme pressure in that it’s literally completely ignored by everyone. It doesn’t matter at all. It was irrelevant before it was even officially adopted. And there is no collective bargaining agreement to advocate though, plus the men’s players sure as **** aren’t gonna bargain away half their money.
