How you get a #1 seed and your only #1 in your conference, The politics ,The favoritism.Havent been #1 all season 🤔.SOS is exact Same as E.F .East has scored more & allowed less points. I have fun on here & love debating the everybody but this right here is fuckery. The people that have a voice dont say ish, Your just as GUILTY.

Im talking about this tainted system. How are you not #1 in your area , all year but playoff time your #1 . The #1 team scored more & held opponents to less points . Now your the #4 seed. SOS is the exact same . Thats all Im trying go figure out . East gave up 38pts the first game of the season . Never had to go to overtime. Then you got a 4A team playing 2A schools & they #2 . Im confused like hell .

What do u mean by #1 in your area? And scoring more and allowing less? If one team beats a team by 1, and another team beats that same team by 50, you know both those victories carry the same weight, don't you? A win is a win.

Common opponent NW Guilford. Grimsley beat them my more. That does factor in when all other things are equal

per News and Record...

An unbeaten regular season and strength of schedule gave Grimsley the No. 1 seed. East Forsyth was fourth because of a down year in the Central Piedmont 4-A, where only the Eagles, Reagan and Mount Tabor finished with winning records. Grimsley and East would meet in potentially epic regional semifinal.

This just goes to show you that East Forsyth, and even Grimsley, etc. need to go out and make it an emphasis to schedule tougher opponents in the non conference, just in case your conference is weak, like the CPC was this year. Comparing the CPC this year to years past, it was down and it didnt help out with the OWP and OOWP.

Don’t have a dog in the fight, but just making an observation. The only weak non conference team EF played was S. Iredell. Rolesville’s final RPI is 5 and NW Guilford is 13. Obviously, there were other opponents they could play the had higher RPI but who knows before the season starts. Like you said, their weak conference hurt their overall RPI. They had the strongest RPI in the west in the early part of the season.

Teams in an eight team conference, like EF and Grimsley, are at a disadvantage especially with a weak conference. Teams from an eight team conference only get to choose three non conference games while seven team conf get to choose four non conference games and six team conferences get to choose five non conference games. IMO that is a big advantage in scheduling, especially for six team conferences.

Opponents RPI doesn't matter, its opponents winning percentage. 4-6 (S Iredell) and 7-3 (Rolesville), it could be better.. and EF benefits from NW Guilford being better than their average season this year too. For a program with their standing currently, EF really should be looking to put tougher opponents on the non conference schedule. Maybe they will learn from this, with feelings of being snubbed from the seeding they got. NW Guilford has a pretty good team this year, but its saying something when your toughest out of conference opponent is NW Guilford.. just sayin..........

I agree with everything you said, but my point is when you have five non conference games, you have a lot more flexibility in scheduling. And once you are in conference play, a team in an "weak" eight-team conference may have to play 4-5 teams with low winning percentages versus a team in a "weak" six-team conference that may have to play 3 -4 teams with a low winning percentage. I believe it is easy to say those teams should schedule stronger when they have less opportunities to schedule "stronger".

Right, I understand, and agree with you, it might be tougher to schedule stronger opponents, because you only have 3 weeks to work with instead of 4 or 5. But I still think if you only have 3 non conference slots, you should do everything you can to try and fill those slots with very strong opponents. I think East Forsyth and Grimsley have been shy with their non conference scheduling. I can see giving Grimsley a little more time to do something soon, because they have only been good for around 4 years now, but EF has been near the top of the state rankings for quite some time now, and shouldn't have an excuse at this point. South Iredell? why?

Wait a minute, East Non conference schedule was against at the time #1 Wake Forest Rolesville, 2nd place Metro A Northwest Guilford and South Iredell(who was down). Grimsley was against Clayton, Reagan and Pinecrest.

The CPC was down because West Forsyth started 0-4 and Davie struggled as well; even though they are playoff bound. 5 teams from CPC made it...

Parkland and RJR absolutely killed East Forsyth's RPI with the Opponents Opponents metric used for RPI.
The outside conference of East scheduling was better than Grimsley but the CPC's bottom 4 teams hurt East Forsyth much worse than Grimsley conference.

I think it was fair and I still like East path to the Title.

my point exactly.. South Iredell, Clayton, Pinecrest, Rolesville...... all teams that haven't done much. Programs with EF and Grimsley's current standings should be doing MUCH better than that.........

I dont hate anybody , But strongly dislike cheaters , New Bern can go to Fayetteville & play better teams there instead of 2A teams ! I get it its there location.......

Again, it's a team, not teams. One team. New Bern went to Norfolk VA this year in addition to having a 4A Wilmington school on the schedule. Why don't you mention that? Tried to schedule Gibbons but their schedule was full. Again, they're not going to stop playing their county rival that they've played for decades. Thanks!
