Not at all . That's what people ask for these days. Try getting guys to wrestle in an event they're not cheap. I did commentary at the Stalemates events so I know what people were asking for
My point was more, someone who has openly bashed PSU for years reaches out to PSU wrestlers to ask them to come to his camps/events. C'mon, do you think there is a line in the PSU wrestling room to help Palacio out. He can spin it as PSU guys all just want money, not helping the kids, look at them, adding to his narrative. PSU guys are not doing charity for Palacios, that bridge is torched.

What do you think Palacio is gaining from a FREE clinic?

A chance to drag PSU wrestlers through the mud by asking them to his clinic. He knows the answer before he "invites" them.
Did you see Palacios response to the wrestler saying they would knock 1k off the price? Does that look like a genuine interaction inviting others to his free camp? That is why I said trolling, neither side had any intention of helping each other.

you're dumb
And you're fat & bald Uncle Fester. No, your idea of hard labor is trolling the cesspool, and then acting like you didn't.
Getting into a tit-for-tat with Palacio only demonstrates your uber-poor judgement, almost as bad as Bo Nickal.
"Never wrestle with pig. You'll only get dirty and the pig will love it." That was advice for Palacio, not for you.

I wouldn’t think highly of an Iowa wrestler who asked for $$$ to help out at a local, free clinic for the underprivileged. I’m surprised you’re defending this.

That said…not sure how much stock to put into this post. It isn’t like I think that by and large PSU guys are pricks.
I'm not defending it . I'm just letting 58 know that's what people ask for

$7,500 for a camp is what NCAA champs ask for if not more. Just letting you know. Ask Cael what he paid DT for a camp back in the day

Truly the longest of cons. He created a foundation, held camps (notably with Spencer and Gabe Arnold), all that effort to set up this own. What's the opposite of Occam's Razor?

Also, Palacio never said it was a Penn State wrestler. You're dragging your own guys thru the mud.

Great point, thank you for the information. I was insinuating trolling because PSU and Palacios want nothing to do with each other.

I will direct you to MSU's reading comprehension course, it has done wonders for me. Look closely.

So you have no idea what you're talking about. He never mentioned PSU, nor gave anything identifying about the wrestler other than that he loudly professes Christianity. That's a lot of wrestlers. Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension.

If you know anything about their history, you know who he is talking about. To indicate it could be about anyone else signifies you know nothing about this particular situation. Have a great night.

So "reading comprehension" has now turned into "you know who he is talking about."

Reading comprehension and context. I learn from the best. See post #54.
You may be able to dress like Superman and even stand like him, but when it comes time to actually do what Superman can do, you fell woefully short.

It would be best for you if you just kept in the stalking lane. Imitation may be the greatest form of flattery, but you have to actually be able to do it competently. Vak had you bouncing off the phone booth walls with relative ease. Be better or stay in your lane!

You're truly an idiot if you think that.

99% of this board is from Iowa and 99% of the work in Iowa is "physical labor and blue collar work."

You seem to have this subconscious goal to lose a little bit of credibility everytime you talk. Keep doing you, bub. Personally, I love it.
I think you are pushing it just a bit with that 99%. You might have been better off saying that we have done it, or we certainly can do it. My guess is there are far more than 1% who do their primary work from an office or even from a car.

I would guess that it's true that wrestling has more popular support from people of all occupations in Iowa than in most other states. In other states it's hard to find wrestling on a TV in a sports bar. In Iowa, it's pretty common. Iowa Public Television had wrestling on Saturday night in the 80s and 90s when most other states had Masterpiece Theater or the French Chef. We like our high school and college wrestling.

Also, blue collar work ain't what it used to be. You have to know a whole lot to fix cars, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, welding, machining or nearly anything else that's "hands on" these days. Some of the smartest people that I ever met worked on farms and in factories.

That said, Willie is playing on a stereotype that we're all from the factory (like me) or the farm, and he thinks that he can stir some resentment towards that snooty, Ivy League, Palacio from all us morans. He's a 125 lb troll trying to use us as leverage to "takedown" a 165 lb troll. Trolls are trolls, and he should probably stick to his own weight class.

People need to mentally separate out Palacio the internet personality from the Palacio that runs camp personality. Palacio the internet personality is a bit of a troll and opinionated to a fault...without recognizing the validity of any other opinion. Personally, I can take or leave that one. He doesn't bother me, but I don't exactly enjoy his schtick either.

Palacio that runs camps is trying to do the right thing. Just about every dime that he brings in on these camps basically covers the travel for the guys working and the space for the next camp. He's trying to bring quality wrestling opportunities to guys that wouldn't normally have access to them. He engages with high end college guys to get them to work camps because it brings a high-end feel to the camps...which benefits the campers. Over the last 15-20 years, wrestling has gotten surprisingly expensive. I won't derail this thread with that conversation but there's zero question that it is changing the accessibility of the sport. These camps are helping to bridge that gap and I absolutely support it.

Some high-end wrestlers are willing to forgo the fees that they would normally charge to participate. I was told that Spencer and Gabe did the camp with him for free. Some guys just won't do that. Personally, I wouldn't try to publicly shame them...everyone makes their own decisions based on what they feel is best. That said, if those same guys are treating the podium like a church lectern, it's hard to feel bad for them for pointing out the hypocrisy.

For sure it is . AI and robots won't be taking those jobs.
We'll see. If AI can be used to perform surgery, there's no reason it can't do HVAC repair or construction. Right now the big AI tech guys are saying that AI can take the jobs of "professional" types like lawyers (hey, that's me!) and doctors, but people will still be able to work trades, but to me that just rings as an attempt to divide people so that the "unaffected" won't complain while the "others" are replaced. Personally I'm skeptical of AI replacing human jobs in any field, but if it is able to take over for doctors, there's no logical reason it wouldn't be able to take over for tradespeople.

Time will tell. But I don't see it happening anytime soon. I remember being told we would've flying cars by 2000 and be traveling like the Jetsons. If AI and robots take construction jobs it's a long ways away
