Up there with Loyola, GBW, HF, LWE, Waubonsie Valley, and Rice as 8A favorites. 2nd best uniforms in the state from the color scheme to the logo, I salute them.
Smitty...Just hit the magnifying glass in the upper right and search "Palatine"...LOTS of discussion on the Pirates on this board.
Ignazio..Couldn't agree more. Why he's not on the 2018 WR's to watch list here is beyond me..kid is an athletic freak of nature...was varsity in 3 sports as a sophomore last year. The "knock" on Oles is size, can't say the same for O'Shea..6'3" 190 lbs as a junior. The kicker is, he could possibly be the second best WR on the team this year. Jack Grochowski (6'4" 210) is a beast who already has several 1-AA Ivy League offers(so he's smart too..)
This is the thing I can't get over this year with Palatine...actual size... Take your pick of five 6'3" WRs( O'Shea is #80)...and this pic doesn't include Grochowski, who's either 6'4" or 6'5" depending on the source ( I left a "normal" size OL in for reference)
And places like the OL too...starters go 6'3 250 lbs ; 6'2" 250 lbs, 6'1" 245 lbs, 6'1" 230 lbs...while not like the corn feed beefers they grow in Barrington and the "wrong" side of Palatine...we're used to 5'11, 195 lb guys.
