What was the purpose of him playing 7 minutes straight in second half? Where he fouled 2 three point attempts resulting in a great part of the UMASS comeback. Great, he made two foul shots. But It was almost like Pike felt “ oh we are up comfortably, let me get Oskar some minutes to be fair to him”. He is NOT a big ten player, suck up your recruiting mistake and stop coaching like a rec league coach trying to be fair. It cost us big time.

If you watch his minutes back with a focus on him, he actually did decent overall. The first foul was dumb and all his fault. The second foul you can make the case that Fernandes stuck his foot out at the last minute and got the call. On that second foul, Oskar actually played decent individual defense and didn’t get burnt by the smaller player. With the soft defense that we’re getting from our other players, maybe we could use his defense. I wouldn’t mind seeing more minutes from him. Just two unfortunate plays attributed to him.
I think Pike thinks he’s still at SB with some of the recruits he brings in. Palmquist is def one of those,
