A Christmas Story is better.
Trading Places is better.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is better.
Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie.

Is Home Alone a Christmas movie? It is also a movie with some Christmas scenes. You could easily take the Christmas scenes out of it and just make it a kid left behind while family went on vacation.
