Is parking in the neighborhood officially banned starting Sunday? Only options are to pay $30 to park at the hospital or take the train?

This is why Evanston sucks. I parked on the street three blocks from Mackey Arena this past Sunday with no issues. If you don't want people parking in front of your house during basketball and football games, don't buy a house close to the stadium!

How bad is this? I parked for last game a couple blocks south of the stadium. Is it restricted everywhere?

It is not just Evanston. Wilmette pulls the same crap of banning parking on game days. All made worse by the loss of a lot

I drove through the neighborhood yesterday and didn’t see any new signage. I’m planning to park in my usual spot.

Oof. I paid $30 to park in the hospital garage, made worse by the stench of a wake and bake MSU fan walking in front of us on the walk down Central.

Parked a block south of central, no new issues.
Linden el lot: Lots of parking spaces, no traffic, no drama. $5 using "Passport" parking app... enter zone 60091 (Wilmette's zip code) and your spot number. 5 minute walk back to your car if you slip out the NE corner "back door" after the game.

What was the last straw to piss off Wilmette and Evanston?

This isn't the first construction project in the area in the last 20-ish years. But something obviously happened. The two towns have decided to draw a line in the sand. I somewhat don't blame them.

They even expanded some of the no parking areas since Christmas.

The concerts. Major issue for the surrounding residents.

The Evanston residents near the stadiums are total curmudgeons. Plenty of other homes located not in close proximity to a university and a sporting venue. Go find one of those! I’ve never seen anyone making noise or causing a problem when leaving the arena. Just people quietly walking back to their cars. All the homes around there have giant driveways and garages, so it is unlikely to affect their parking.
