The passing game in the last two minutes. Two great acrobatic catches and the qb gave the receivers a chance. Where has that been this season? Asking for a friend.
I think Grono throws the ball better on longer passes, 20+ yards from the LOS. He had Gill for a slant TD right before the end of the first half and threw it a little low. It was a catch but it could have been a TD but instead Stevens missed that FG.

The ANF Podcast guys mentioned that Grono puts a little too much heat and a very horizontal line on his shorter passes and the ball nose dives. Mark throws the 30 yard out pretty well because it is a long throw

Thanks, I think we would all agree on the short stuff especially.

There have been some deep passes he has connected with this year that have absolutely surprised me because we haven't seen much of that in recent history. I think that assessment is pretty accurate.

He also got off an absolute bullet of a shorter pass late in the game. If he could do that consistently he would be pretty damn good.

Noticed that-it was a shocker almost-the bullet pass that was completed.

Exactly. Again it's what I keep saying. Iowa has some very good receivers--especially Vander Zee and Howard--but the QB has to give 'em a chance. Finally, at the very last moment, MG did, and the receivers showed what they can do.
