When I watched the interview I had to do a double-take on that quote at the end about the "1-0" thing. Highly doubt he was aware that was Franklin's mantra, but it is fascinating to hear that as a microcosm of the change in mentality we will start seeing at PSU.

It's actually the best thing I heard today. Without even realizing it, Coach Campbell completely defined everything that we have been longing for, and everything that is false and fraudulent, in one simple sentence

I likewise did a double-take. I am not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was a refreshing change of perspective.

Campbell comes across as too classy to publicly rebuke the way Franklin ran the program on his very first day on the job. I would doubt there was anything intentional about it.
Exactly. It was completely unintentional. But it was music to our ears

This was a great interview and very impressed by Coach Campbell. Toughness, Discipline, Togetherness are foundational to him and the keys to success.

Like Pate or not, it is worth listening to this entire video. I loved, loved the comment at the end that “we cannot worry about 1-0, we have to worry about one day at a time and building all of those championship habits.”

What's not to like about Pate? Very fair and informative. No agendas for any conferences or schools. Always come across as having a ton of respect for PSU.

One thing that's apparent from these interviews is that PSU didn't contact Campbell until late in the process after some other things didn't work out. Sorry but I take Kraft says with a grain of salt when he says "we got our guy".

That doesn't mean Campbell is a bad choice. I'm a big fan of everything he says but he's got a big rebuild in front of him.

Anybody was going to have a big rebuild in front of them.

You don't know if we have a "big rebuild" or not. Do you think we are losing to NW, Minny, Wisky, Purdue, Maryland and Rutgers? Let's see how the current roster shakes our then the portal. I am definitely not conceding 2026 at this point. Kraft did not hire Campbell to go 7-5 for the next two years or even 8-4, I can tell you that.

Campbell, being the kind of person he is, doesn't discuss job openings until the season is over.

The problem was Kraft negotiating with BYU's coach prior...
