Pathetic blocking: WR and RB

As bad as the offensive line has been, they do a decent job of pass blocking on the occasions when they know where to go and whom to block. Against Wake, we had some blown opportunities when Smith, Scott, or a WR gave a pathetic effort at blocking. And it wasn't a matter of physical skill, but effort. You could see a clearly lackadaisical attempt by many guys.

During the last go round with Bobby at the helm, we never saw this chit.

The WR never properly block on the WR screen. Thats one play I'd never run.

The little things are killing the offense. I agree the WR, RB and even TE blocking is not good. The other small things is some of the cuts the skilled people are making just don't make much sense. Last year Quick not taking the right angle to the pylon, Smith against BC cutting back into traffic, Quick making cuts when they weren't necessarily, and running backs not reading blocks right.

All these things add up especially when you are playing good defenses.

Agree! With all the penetration opposing defenses get naturally, I've been wondering why we haven't given the RB screen to LJ and/or Reggie. They both have a nice gear in the open field.

I don't understand half the things we are doing on offense. Thank God the Defense came to play last night.
