What is everyone's thoughts on this game. 1vs2 in Region D. This seems to be a big game in SWVA. I have not seen either team this year play. I know Chilhowie lost alot last year but they seem to be doing well. PH I know they have a talented backfield. How are the lines on both sides of the ball. Can anyone give some input,

Cant speak to PH other than their main horse back is out and has been for a while. The chatter you see is some fans are thinking he may not be back till the playoffs. Its all guesswork more than likely as far as that goes. As for Chilhowie, a big and strong line can have their way with them. Even more so when that size has speed also. Narrows didnt have many issues with them till late 3rd on and fatigue set in. Single A school problems there. If PH is as strong on the lines as Narrows or close, I'd take the Rebels.

Would you say Narrows has what it takes to beat Galax this year? I have seen Galax play, pretty impressive.

IF both teams were at full strength I would take PH but I am not so sure who is in or out on either team so it’s a toss up to me.

Another big IF, is if either can stop Mr Brown and put some points up against a solid Galax defense. I would take The Maroon Tide all things equal but they have to get out of their region to meet up.

And by the way I like the handle.

You can watch one of PHs games and one of Chilhowie games at WCYB.com. Go to sports then to Friday night rivals. They have aired like 6regional games this year extremely good picture quality . One of PH and one of Chilhowie plus you can watch the Union /Ridgeview game and watch two of the best Runnig backs in 2a this year, Adkins and Pollier

If Narrows gets all they can back healthy, can have the help to get them at Ragsdale and not on the road, who knows. I think being realistic, it's preparing your asses off trying for a repeat of 2017 with a puncher's chance at the end in front of the home crowd. Damn near pulled it off then when I expected something closer to last year in Galax. Any given weekend, you never know.

The game is not be televised by WCYB. There was an attempt by some of the Chilhowie faithful asking WCYB but they ended their first full season. As far as the game goes it should be a classic Region D game. Two strong defenses and both teams can score.

Thanks for the update. It was indeed just a rumor then.

I dont think Narrows can play with Galax as of now. If narrows hadnt lost their stud LB and DL and DE, I think it would have been more like the game 2 years ago when it was 28-27. I hate in for the Green Wave bc they were real contenders to end up in Salem but injuries have killed them. Dont get me wrong...a 10-0 regular season and a possible run to the regional title game is an outstanding year. This community really gets behind this high school...fun place to watch a game.

Sadly the injuries have taken a dominant defense for this level and made it a good one. They've adjusted well though. We are definately proud of this bunch.

We scrimmage Narrows and the D was fast and flowed extremely well. They threw the ball extremely well in the scrimmage. Are they still throwing the ball alot? Or is some of the injuries part of the passing game.

Theyre still throwing around. Blaker just under 1000 yards on the year with 11 TDs and 1 pick. Off the top of my head Im thinking 55 of 88 for the year. When they balance the offense, theyre fun to watch. The injuries mainly came on the front 7 on D.
