I find it interesting that Washington still hasn't formally announced him. Maybe it relates to him working on certain school credits or something? Just seems odd, especially when they had three other transfers in that they announced in early May (before Paul entered the portal).

And finished his masters here with tons of goodwill in NJ/NY area for opening future career doors.
Paul helped make RU a winner and because I feel the team was going in a different direction than the type that his game fit well in, he needed to find a program that he fit better into if he wanted to get enough miniuite to feel like he was contributing to their success.
Mulcahy gave Rutgers 4 good years , that should count for something
and if he felt his time as a Rutgers starter was at an end, I can understand his leaving as a grad transfer.
Just hope the unhappy camper rumor isn't true, he did enough at RU for me to want him feel good about being at Washington.

Haters gonna hate. Most fans liked Paul but the haters love to pile on.

“I just saw a cloud outside that looked like the number 4. I think I’ll go on an anonymous bulletin board and trash a former player.” Lmao

I mean he left for $400K (reportedly) at last possible minute and is still unhappy. Are we supposed to feel bad for him?

(Ignoring a couple of the troll posts ITT which as always are out of line)

It definitely does not say this is Paul.

No, no reason to feel bad for him. Just reason to be decent human beings. Too much to ask for sometimes. (And btw, no problem with your posts.)

This and the guy is one us - a rutgers grad ! So if he wants to get a masters degree somewhere else , that his choice and right . Do these same people get mad when a rutgers grad pursues a masters or JD somewhere else ?

The University of Washington men's basketball website has a story from June 29 announcing two transfers (from Lamar and Nebraska) to "fill out the class" and added to three previously announced grad transfers (none Mulcahy). Also not listed on the roster. He got his undergrad degree last Fall so...weird.

With Oskar now coming back and Austin Williams not announced but a done deal according to everyone then this would be the first time maybe ever that Pikiell will actually be out of scholarships. And Mulcahy burned bridges, certainly with the fans, and most certainly with the staff so definitely possible that the door was closed.

Ummm…this is not necessarily Paul.

Context would have been helpful.

Some player in the Pacific Northwest is not necessarily Paul

I hope it’s not him. I wish him well and want to see him succeed.

With that said I don’t think he made the greatest decision leaving. He loved it here and could have helped our team next year (albeit on a more limited/different role).

I hope it’s not him but there’s a good chance it is. Where there’s smoke there fire.

I don’t understand how he couldnt be happy if he got paid $400k. That’s an insane amount of money for someone with his skill set

Unless the NIL fell through

RHJ is only getting $560k for his two way contract

Pike made the guy a two-time captain . All we heard was how a great of a kid he was , donating his NIL money to the food kitchen and showing appreciation to the band.
If he was a problem , pike didn’t handle it well. So I doubt that
We all know that person that does really nice things for other people, but somehow still manages to rub people the wrong way.

That being said the only report I got (first hand) from someone within RU Athletics is that he was a great kid.

Not to mention I can’t imagine the NIL would even be on the table for him at RU.

We are better off. It was time to move on. Paul did some great things for the program and it's on to a new chapter.

If that works out of him, great. If it doesn't, that's his own situation to sort out. Onward.

Paul made faux pas when he tweeted computer generated image of himself in Washington jersey wearing the number four.

However, Paul never appeared on the team 2023-2024 roster or in a UW press release, unlike four other transfers. The roster shows another player wearing number four.

Lots of red flags for Paul which I posted to TKR a few weeks ago.

If we paid money to watch the pre-law Rutgers grad, donated money to get/keep the athlete on the team, and bled Scarlet blood with them....well, then yes. But comparing a non-athletic, pre-law grad picking a different law school to one of our athletes is quite the stretch.

Just highlighting the absurdity of the whole thing.
It was ok when cam transferred here. It was ok when Hughes and Duncan transferred here (we hang a banner proudly in the RAC) thanks to them.
It was ok when yeboah transferred here . Maybe stony brook has a special season if he stayed for his final year there.
