Quick update on PBJ. As I reported 4 months ago, it's down to NU and his father's school but he is Collins' to lose because PB supports his son coming here. It's going to be a no lose for PB.
Yes, the gurus are still saying Duke but Duke isn't happening. Look for an announcement soon enough but it has nothing to do with our nice little win streak.

The source is the same source who filled me in on facebook a few months ago. So, consider this second hand but imo the source is most credible.

Well, if Turk heard it on Facebook from a shadowy source, that's good enough for me!

Kind of a unique opportunity to come in with a team that comes out of nowhere and you can be part of something unique. Cinderella Story. Media loves a story like that.

This seems completely legit with well-sourced and reasonable reporting. I can’t see how anyone would be question it. Well done! I am thrilled that we have access to a poster who transcends local, regional and National journalists and scooped this for us on WildcatReport.

Mostly, I’m thrilled this is not simply wishful thinking (at best) or message board pandering (more cynically). In any case, great post and keep the pipeline of inside information coming!

I really hope this isn't blind squirrel Turk and that you really know something. Or if it is blind squirrel Turk, then this is the nut you finally find.

The recent demonstration of the talent that will be around PBJ or other top recruits has to help. NU has it all except for an NBA level star although Nance has the upside. T Jackson Davis of IU showed what a NBA talent can do although NU won other match ups and the game. Picture a PBJ touching the ball almost every set with 4 other scoring threats as options to pass to. This is a team missing 1 player not 2 to 4. Recruiting builds on success.

With his ankle injury, if he comes to NU, would we expect him to redshirt his first year to rehab? If so, I could see some attraction to NU with all the great medical expertise available.

I think we’re all blowing his injury out of proportion.

Fun to read but we believe what we see.

How can anyone say the competitive play of this year's team has no effect on the decision?

SI article linked above says torn ankle ligaments and out 2-3 months.
Meaning the season. Do they want to do surgery or expect it to heal on its own? I had an ankle injury fairly young and it can cause problems years and even decades later. Everything fine and then you just put it down wrong and down you go and have to deal with it for a while. And I was not trying to get into NBA so I would have to think they might opt to try to repair it if possible. Then he would need a year or so just to prove it was sound so suddenly the can't miss prospect could be here for multiple years rather than just one or two. Injury like that might emphasize the value of the better degree

What better place to spend that time than NU!

If he did and because of the injury needed to sit out much of the first year to recover, he might be able to get a jump on degree. Then he plays 2 years (maybe three) gets degree and having shown ankle is solid goes to NBA. Not a bad path. Duke would be able to offer something similar but hopefully his ties to NU supercede that. THe great start this year likely means CCCs position is more secure so hopefully he sees it as his best option

I’m willing to bet there’s been quite a few advances in medicine since your injury. Also, PBJ is a world class athlete receiving the best medical care possible. I think it’s highly unlikely he’ll miss anytime during his freshman year. I fully expect him back playing this Spring.

They did not do surgery on the ankle. At the time I do not think they had any. But I have had ACL reconstruction and it tends to take about 18 months to get back as close to 100% as you are going to get. Yes you can come back earlier but full recovery is closer to 18 months. I would guess the ankle is something similar. Can come back in 6 but full recovery longer. So he could play potentially next year depending on when it would be but it would not be till the following year that he would be fully recovered

I respectfully disagree. They’re saying he will recover in 2-3 months. Guys are recovering from torn ACL’s and Achilles tears within 12 months these days.
