WOW! the defense looked impressive. Loads of confusion on the offensive side of the ball. I am a little disappointed with the poor showing.

Defensively they did No wrong. Kids aligned correctly, technique thoroughly and clearly being taught, and assignments not being blown.

It could be a long year if they need to compete in high scoring games. Keep it close and a top 3 finish in the conference is do able!

As disappointed in the Sophomores I am that impressed with the team speed and enthusiasm of the varsity!

I love how the Providence kids come out fired up and focused even for an intersquad game. The coaches headphones to work out the game day bugs is smart thinking.

You heard it hear first Providence is not a pushover nd will be challenging in all season through the season and into November.

I'm not sure i ever remember PC being a push over...It's just for some reason, it seems that there has been nothing but up hill battles since like the medina era.

Shocked that PC had to combine lower levels and play a JV schedule. First traditional CCL team to have to combine. PC JV will play SR Sophs week 6, no FR game.

Shocking is putting it mildly. recruiting is in the numbers not in the 5STAR players. you need animals for a ZOO.

look at the kids in the area that are picking to stick with the LW's. Why arent they banging the Joliet area? With Joliet Ctholic resurgence and soon to be Lockport and a Czart lead program is the well drying up so much that it's beating a dead horse?

They cant get better coaching on the varsity. Proven. But so is Lovie Smith at U of I. does that mean they are the right fit for today's era?

I am sorry. I hate to say this is Providence dropped to the mediocre or soon to be lucky to make the playoffs level?

you always had your top tier catholic league programs and then you had the everyone else's . they are no longer in the first breath of the Mount Carmel, Loyola, Montini; Sadly not even in the 2nd breath? Other than their 20145 title. is this a program that is capable of achieving one or two loss seasons?
Why hold your breath for 5-4 and base your judgement on a qtr final play off run? This seams to be their goal every year.

Thoughts ? Am i just way off? The Frosh/soph numbers are CRAZY!

IMO, Provi has a chance to have a strong varsity this year. Their numbers are decent, and they have some nice top-end talent. The challenges will start after this year. I recall going to the 2015 early season matchup between Provi and JCA. At the time, JCA had a strong varsity team, but trouble was brewing on the lower levels. Those troubles led to varsity records of 1-8 and 3-6 in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Things are not trending well for the Celtics after this year, but things can change quickly. JCA seems to have turned it around, as things currently stand. Was talking to an assistant coach this weekend. The Hilltoppers have 38 sophs and 43 Frosh in the football program. Provi is well below those levels of participation.
