How motivated will Michigan be today for Harbaugh?

Having 4 starters out makes this game a lot closer and the fact that Michigan has embarrassed Florida the last 2 times they have played has me thinking Michigan is going to get upset today..

Michigan should fair well

Good matchup - the SEC has their top 2 teams in major bowls so the BIG gets more favorable matchups.

#2 big gets #3 SEC rather than Georgia

Now a day there is no differents from the Sugar to the Fiesta to the Peach..It’s the NY6..

Maybe, but there is a difference between #2SEC team vs #3SEC team. A comparable matchup would have Michigan v Georgia.

Michigan should win this - plus Florida has a new staff

See what your saying but #2 team in the SEC and Big 12 always plays in the Sugar just like the Rose with the B1G and Pac12 unless their conference champions are not in the Playoff

Patterson looks like he is pressing a bit this game going to be a lower scoring game, both teams have tough defenses..

Good point .. yes because we don’t have a rep in the playoffs, for the most part, the BIG gets some more favorable matchups against conferences with playoff representatives

Four players sitting out is ridiculous. Finish out the season with the school you played 3 or 4 years for. It shows a tremendous amount of disrespect to the fans, the coaches, and your teammates to sit out a game like that.

Your preaching to the choir... The ones that are playing looks like they want this win bad after being thumped by the nemesis..

I just don't have a problem with this...This is a meaningless bowl game when it comes to the grand scheme of things, so do what you have to do to put yourself in the best financial position possible because if you get hurt, none of those people or the school you mention are going to be writing you a check to cover your losses.

I am not a fan of the"I'm not playing in the bowl game". And spare me the "if you were in their shoes, you would too because of the money".

There's no I in team. If you're injured and not100%, ok.

I'm probably in the minority here, but just another example of selfish entitlement. Just get rid of the bowl games then. How fair is it to your team mates to bail on them after telling them all career that you should play hard for the guy next to you and that guy on the sideline and in the locker room. Is that just coach rhetoric for 11 months of the year? Slippery slope for me.

How excited will fan bases be to travel to bowl games if all of a sudden your potential NFL draft picks say the "heck with you"? IF you're not in the playoffs it's irrelevant? Slippery slope and I hope it doesn't catch on here when we're bowling again starting in 2019.

I agree. I'm growing tired of these guys dropping out of bowl games. IMO you have a commitment to your teammates.

Meaningless bowl game for who? You're playing a top 10 team. Have a chance to avenge a loss to their conference rival. This game sets the tone for their whole season. If they win, it would be considered a hugely successful year only losing to playoff Notre Dame and Ohio State and getting a bowl win against a top 10 team. If they lose, it's just another failure in the Harbaugh era underperforming expectations and crapping the bed at the end of the year.

We had a similar situation in 2010, had a very good year overall but that bowl loss led to a bad stink on that whole season. And in 2015, after having upset Michigan State and getting a bowl win against UCLA gave most fans a ton of optimism heading into the next year. It's laughable that people think boel games are meaningless. They can affect the outlook of an entire season.

I can see the point somewhat about meaning less bowl games IF you are talking national championship. The playoffs ruined that. IF you are not top four you have zero chance. Before it was slim but possible for a lower ranked team to have a chance.

You are spot on about the rest. That bowl win and trophy in the case means a lot to me.

How pissed will people be when (hypothetical) Martinez decides hesh going to declare after his junior year and sit out the bowl game the day after we win the BIG.

He would be smart enough to play in the Rose Bowl like Haskins is going to do..

Michigan has no answer for Gators D. Florida will start to pull away and blow them out with the time left in the game and Harbaugh will leave for the NFL. They is reports of couple of teams that is interested and willing to offer more $ to Harbaugh.

Why would any team offer more bucks to Harbaugh? He hasn't won anything. He's getting out coached yet again. Players look as confused as Harbaugh.

If the NFL teams that are interested in him, why wouldn’t he take it. Maybe those teams are desperate so they want to make a splash hire.
