Found this interesting when I saw it... Buddy of mine that is an Iowa fan sent it to me... Didn't realize UCF was so penalized? Seems this is a problem for this staff?

I’d be more interested in penalty type. I would expect an up tempo offense to be penalized more often just due to the sheer volume of plays being run. Penalties at inopportune times are always painful to watch, but not all penalties are created equal. Along with more penalties, I would expect an up tempo team to have more procedural penalties. It’s just the nature of the up tempo beast. But there’s a difference between a 5 yard procedural penalty and a boneheaded 15 yard personal foul or spot penalty. A procedural penalty is much easier to overcome than the personal foul/holding/block in the back. Those are the ones that are mental lapses that are happening with far too much frequency leading to undisciplined play.

Penalties are penalties. When you play a style of defense that is an attacking style, you are going to have aggressive play penalties. When you play man defense you are going to have your share of holding and PI too. We can justify them all we want though.

I said this as well in an earlier post. UCF was a heavily penalized team. As well as a poor defensive team outside of take aways and maybe sacks

Why would "Hawkeye Nation" give two sh!ts about how many penalties Nebraska commits? His last sentence just shows his hard on for Nebraska, trying to prove our "naritive" wrong. So pathetic.
