Principal has ties to New Hanover coaching staff and Topsail coaching staff I am pretty sure, maybe even ties to Motsinger which makes this opening something to key an eye on is Eastern North Carolina

Yes, from what I understand Motsinger lives in or around Burgaw. Job was posted to NC Teaching Jobs website, so it shouldn't be much more than a month or so that we know who Pender's next one is.

Just an outsiders opinion...a coach doesn't get let go for seemingly no reason unless the powers that be got something in the works already. It may not be MOT but it's someone who has an inside connection somewhere

I totally agree, I don't know anything more than what I've heard. But like I said I know the principal has ties to schools in and around Pender County, as well as having coached with Mot at some point during his own coaching career.

Since the coach was let go before Christmas can also mean that they can start interviewing candidates early and get ahead in getting someone in place

It looks like they are building a new field house at the south end of the field which might help attract a bigger name coach.

Yes it looks like in an effort to help recover funds for the new field house that an interm coach will be named already on staff and since he's a good X's and O's guy the boys basketball coach, Gary Battle will take over until they get the interest paid down to a comfortable figure.

He is going to have his hands full trying to get the program back to its glory days. People hated having to go there in the 1990s.

Tom Eanes had Pender in the state championship game in 2010 .... The glory days weren't that long ago.
