Love everything Hexy did for the Flyers when he was a player....
HOWEVER
dude is clearly not cut out to be a GM. not gonna say he destroyed the Flyers, but he did absolutely nothing to help them. Why the Pens hired him is beyond me.

he's awful, killed both ends of the state as a GM.
Pens need to get younger and faster plus find a GK. They have a 1 but traded away a 2, 3 and 4 from this year but got the Devils 3rd I think. If they get lucky and can find a trade partner for someone like Malkin maybe they can get some more young blood but I see this as time to rebuild.
Such a waste this season was, almost exclusively due to GT and lousy D.
Of course, having a few future Hall of Fame players who are paid well is not a great model for a salary capped league. Yeah, Hex was a GREAT GT and I loved watching him play. He blows chunks as a GM...time to move on.
16 years in the playoffs and a couple of cups was a good run. I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Think he caught lightning in a bottle when he had that good L.A. team.... He has been atrocious with both the Flyers and Pens. Ed Snider has to rolling over in his grave. The Flyers were so good for so long, now the entire franchise is a dumpster fire. Need new owners, see how the new coach and GM make out but it's going to be a long time for the Flyers to rebuild. Their farm system has very little talent.
The damage Hextall caused is done. I just hope that the franchise hasn't been destroyed at the level of the lowly Flyers.
Well that news is sad, I personally don’t like the penheads and hoped that they stink as bad as dysfunctional broad street dumba$$es.
