I just perused the overall season records on wiki. Underwhelming to say the least.
But PSU was going to have to land a BIG fish if they wanted to justify the firing.

(I know tone and inflection aren't the easiest things to convey in a post, but I try)It's the latest in a long line of, "Hurry! Mollify the pitchfork and torch crowd before they get really mad!" decisions when it comes to CFB - do something, anything, and do it now!
Ask Nebraska (among others) how that approach has worked for them.
You'd think people who are paid large sums of money to manage enormous sums of money through their decisons would be just a touch more measured and deliberate. But I guess it complicates matters when the people who fund the the show have the emotional maturity and stability of the average tweener Swiftie.
11 win season in 2024, 3 bowl wins, and most wins in Iowa State history. I guess we will see. He’s a better fit at PSU than Franklin was so they could have done much worse. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Good, but not a homerun, imho. It just seems like you can argue hes not really an upgrade at all.
They reached the point that it would have taken someone like Urban Meyer to vindicate them, but that apparently wasn't in the cards.
I honestly believe that this will have to be established in the crucible of time.
