over our 8 games our offense has averaged around70 plays per game v the opponents around 75 plays per game. However, that includes Ball State and Nova. If we pull them out, our DEF has been on the field over 85 plays per game in some very physical games. even though most think of the Illinois game as a fluke, it was a very physical game. Wisconsin, Auburn, Iowa and even Illinois and Indiana were tough physical games. Our DEF really needs a game where the OFF can just hold the ball and score. made worse by the adjustments due to PJ loss.

Our D has kept us in every game, IMO, including last week. The O's got to get more points on the board and ideally kill some more clock to give the D a rest.

Our D might not be one of the top statistically (yardage) but has done well with the most important stat, the scoreboard.
