Penn State wrestling landed a new verbal commitment on Tuesday from top Class of 2027 recruit Grey Burnett.
Well thank God, maybe we have a small chance now in 2028.

Agree. Getting Gilman and now RBY back definitely helps along with Jordan Connaway and Nick Lee and Zain. This staff/problem is simply unreal when you think about it. Best in the World by far.
He and Sidun met a month ago at the Clarion Open with Sidun getting the lone TD in a 4-1 victory. At least I think it was 4-1 as the video on Flo ended w/10 sec. left in the match. EDIT: Thanks Greg for mentioning below that Burnett later beat him in the consolation round of the same tournament.

They split. Sidun won 4-1 in the opening round and then Burnett beat him 2-1 in the consi semis.
Great pickup, will be interesting to see how the lineup plays out between 125-141 with Nate really emerging. Get the best talent in the room and the rest will figure itself out.
The upcoming Olympic redshirts a ton of our guys will take after the 2027 season will also play a role in lineup juggling.
Ordinarily this is a rare redshirt, but not with this crazy talented team
Pretty soon.. the football team is gonna have to bring in recruits to wrestling matches as opposed to Cael using the white out weekend for his recruits

Funny you say that. After Tanner Hodgins (#13 on Willie’s ‘27 Big Board) verballed 2 weeks ago to OkST, some behatted fellow on Facebook joked - does Penn State get any verbals anymore?
I didn’t have the heart to tell him we had verbals from #2 (Sidun) and #9 (Mangano). And now #4 in Burnett.

Over the past 10 years, Penn State has had as many wrestlers as Iowa win NCAA titles at 125 pounds. Each school had one individual win titles (SL & Nico). And Nico had the higher average finish (1+1+1+6 = 2.25 avg), and (2+2+3+1= 2 avg).
