I've indicated in recent Match Threads that my availability and schedule was a bit of a mess due to the pending birth of a grandchild. I've spent the past week out-of-town, watching my granddaughter, while her parents were in the hospital dealing with the mom's labor. On Wednesday, due to things not moving past a certain point, the doctors highly recommended a C-section. So on Wednesday, my wife and I became the proud grandparents of our 1st grandson! Mom, dad, and new grandson are coming home tomorrow afternoon, and we'll be departing about that time to return home. Nothing about this past week has gone to schedule, so I'm setting this thread up the night before, to make sure that it gets posted before Friday night's dual.

Please use the thread for all pre-match, in-match, and post-match discussion for the 2026 PSU - Indiana dual.

When:
January 23, 7:00 pm EST

Where:
Rec Hall, State College, PA

TV:

PBP:
I'm pretty sure I'll be out for PBP, due to the uncertainty of my schedule. I didn't check with @SlipperyPete or @GregPickel in advance, but I hope one or both of them will be available for PBP. That said, we always encourage others to participate, and post thoughts about things that happen in the dual. And as always, a reminder that if you are doing PBP, please post the score of the match, as well as the team score of the dual, at the end of each match.

Such happy news is always great to hear. Do you get a demerit for posting on a wrestling thread? Kidding.. :) Deep Congratulations. Enjoy the ride.

If you don't have kids...sorry

Edit: After wondering who uses Blaze as a first name I looked.. Think it's Blaine?

It seems from watching Cael that they choose to work/emphasize different things in matches. Any chances he tells his wrestlers to end things quickly in these next two matches?

Ya think??? (If they kept record of shortest elapsed match running time, I could easily see it broken this weekend)

In separate news, we’re less than three hours out from a great midwestern rivalry (buskers-hawks), and the Iowa board is crickets.

I think some of you fellas broke them.

@Tom McAndrew congratulations on the grandson.
Hopefully you will have as much fun with him as my grandfather did with me.
He was known to say if "I knew grandkids were this much fun, I would have had them first!"

I know Davis needs the work, but it hardly seems fair to make him wrestle both Blaze and Frazier at the same time. Maybe both Frazier boys at the same time would be ok, but throwing Blaze in there is just meanspirited.

Actually, the dismal performance of most of our wrestlers did that.
