Why, does he have an aspiring influencer gf too?
To be honest, I thought he was meaning that he's worried Rocco will marry a girl that likes to talk about the size of her cooch on social media...
I'm not always the best at reading people tho.
285- #10 Cole Mirasola vs. #7 Nathan Taylor
Period 1:
This should be an interesting match. Here we go! Cole is much smaller. Circling & tying up. Taylor reaches for a leg, but can't get there. Collar ties & snaps by both. Cole reaches, but can't get there. More circling, tying up & hand fighting. Cole shoots, but Taylor blocks him off. Taylor reaches, but no luck. Cole reaches & just misses. Back to circling & tying up in the center. Cole with another reach. Taylor reaches again, but nobody is getting very close on these reaches. Back to tying up, hand fighting & pushing in the center & that's how the period ends. 0-0
Period 2:
Cole selects down. He works to his feet, gets hand control & the quick escape, 1-0. Cole shoots, but can't get to the leg. Tying up & pushing in the center again. Taylor shoots, but Cole backs away. Cole reaches, Taylor circles away, 1-min left. Cole gets an ankle. Taylor drapes over the top & locks through the crotch. Cole keeps working & has both legs now, but Taylor has a leg too. They're scrambling & Taylor finishes off the TD, just before the period ends, 3-1 Taylor.
Period 3:
Taylor takes down. Cole cuts Taylor, 4-1. Tying up in the center again. Cole is having a hard time getting to Taylor's legs. Cole shoots in deep on a leg. Taylor sprawls back, counters & then spins behind for the TD, 7-1. Taylor with a heavy ride. Taylor cuts Cole, 7-2, then shoots, but they go out of bounds. Cole snaps & reaches, but can't connect. Cole shoots a double at the end, but time expires.

The objective isn't to peak in Early December. His offense will come.
I don’t fully agree. Offense doesn’t just come. Wrestlers are who they are. This isn’t about peaking it’s about a psychological approach of opening up a skill set. He was the much better wrestler and should have won easily.
It’s about perspective, and wrestling is hard. It’s not as if Rogers is a pushover.
If Welsh matches Bartlett’s All American finishes that would be a very good career.

Yea was worried about this for Mirasola. Definitely has the talent and speed to AA but the wrong draw at nationals could be damaging as well.
I agree. Rocco isn’t going to turn into Mesenbrink. He wins a ton of close matches. He might find some more offense but he’s not going to start blowing guys out. Still, he’s very good and will be right there at the end of the season. Rogers is good as well. Was a big recruit who has never quite meet expectations but is still very talented
I know wrestling is hard. Beau was a 3 time AA. Rocco will probably be 4 time. Beau also wrestled down to his competition many times. Both things can be true. Rocco has a tendency to also like close defensive matches. I would prefer he opened up a bit.
Two losses, only decisions at 184 & 197, Mitchell only got a major.

Won’t continue arguing. One slip and your match is sideways. Winning by less than takedown is never winning easily.
Cole has to get bigger, no way around that.
I’d keep the competition open at heavyweight. I know Cole’s frame isn’t ideal but you’d think knowing you’re going that weight for 2 years would get you to be more maxed out for your frame.
Pitzer had a good match against Taylor and is >10lbs heavier than Cole. Pitzers match should have went to overtime.

It looked to me like he was trying to go, just that Rogers was pretty solid and he wrestled an Iowa style match, ie elite neutral defense, good on bottom and no offense.
Rocco took several shots, was in on and couldn't finish like 3 or so.
Iowa vs Pitt was both less competitve and with less scoring.
OT: but Trent hidlay is killing it announcing the NC state and Rutgers match.
I will take top a 3 placement the next 3 years. Yes I would like to see more action but in the end, a W is a W
It seemed several of the Lehigh wrestlers had a plan to slow down their opponent by interlocking fingers from neutral anytime they could.
Agree. There was a lot of defense first based wrestling by Lehigh. Rocco’s opponent had a strategy from the start to make it a one take down match (and succeeded). Many D1 wrestlers can keep a match close if that is their entire focus. Rocco has been more aggressive since joining the team. I think today’s match was more about his opponent strategy than Rocco reverting to his tOSU ways.
Think we’re talking about an entirely different wrestler if Cole is 235 while maintaining speed

He needs to get significantly stronger, Cassar was basically the same weight. Cassar was much stronger. Cole then needs to be strategic in his attacks against the BIG guys, he cannot get underneath. He had a nice double, wasn't quite deep enough and Taylor sprawled smashing Cole into the mat for the easy 2.
There goes the Hodge, he didn't pin him. He broke him instead.
With the obvious difference in the number of matches wrestled between Cael's time and now Marcus + PJ might equal less than Cael's 159.
