Berating Iowa is always allowed, and very much encouraged. Typical announcers calling an Iowa match, the Iowa wrestler bruises a knee dropping to the mat too hard, the Iowa wrestler calls time out. Is it for a bloody nose? Oh no. He has finger cramps from locking fingers. And the Iowa wrestler backs off the mat. AGAIN! History books tell a story of an Iowa team that used to plow forward and brutalize opponents. Has anybody ever seen that or is that just another urban legend? But we can still berate the has-beens (Iowa) correct?
SVN better be careful. He’s been putting himself in some dangerous positions. Won’t get away with that against a top 10 wrestler most of the time.Compared to PSU all the other teams are "crap" teams. It's not like the other wrestlers on those teams are terrible. Just PSU's guys are really good. SVN almost got caught tonight. That kid he wrestled is good. PSU starter good, no. But still not some slouch.
This team makes the 1994 football team look, "ah, they're OK."228-3 over the first 5 matches of the Big 10 schedule, including Iowa.
I don’t remember ever seeing a team this dominant in the 45 years I’ve been following wrestling.
I totally agree. We’ll just have to wait and see how they do at the end of the season, but I believe this is the best dual meet team I’ve ever seen.228-3 over the first 5 matches of the Big 10 schedule, including Iowa.

I thought he may not have heard the point he got for stalling, so may not have realized he just needed a ride out for the tech. That's Davis to a T. Had the opportunity for a TF and couldn't do it.
You can be sure that he and the coaches are going to review that sequence very closely in the next week. It brings back deja vu all over again when I think about DT’s finals match in 2011.SVN better be careful. He’s been putting himself in some dangerous positions. Won’t get away with that against a top 10 wrestler most of the time.
SlipperyPeteAgree! I vote for Pete to have his own heading under his name. For example it says I’m “all conference,” same as Pete
@SlipperyPete needs his own special designation
What do you say @Tom McAndrew @GregPickel ??
“King Pete” “PBP King”. I’m open to suggestions and the mods need to make it happen!
They got the MD match, still free. Im watching it now.Big ten + has replay available right? Can't catch it live.
Lol. There was another Coach from the sitcom Cheers who was a master at getting to first base by leaning into a pitch. He said it was impossible to get him out.My coach Ron Pifer at State High would coach us that in order to get a stoppage. Lol. Used that in a tournament at Jersey Shore to get a reset. lol
Vipers are sly and stealthy. SVN was a D10 bulldozer into a balsa wood house.Spoiler alert. The student announcer concluded that Van Ness came in like a viper and stole the win.
We may need to pull in lionjim from the football board for this one.Byers said it ended up 31-15 after lots of mathematics involved
don't think so. I don't think he knew he got another stalling point in the closing momentsThat's Davis to a T. Had the opportunity for a TF and couldn't do it.
Yup I just finished it.They got the MD match, still free. Im watching it now.
Over the last few weeks I have gone back and looked up the season dual meet records for the dominant years for Iowa and Oklahoma State. I also looked at the data all the way back into the 50s for those teams. I can confidently say that if Penn State ends the season undefeated in duals then they will clearly have had the most dominant dual season in NCAA history.228-3 over the first 5 matches of the Big 10 schedule, including Iowa.

Do we win?Yup I just finished it.
I yelled at the TV that he needed to get his sh&t together. He must have heard me.SVN better be careful. He’s been putting himself in some dangerous positions. Won’t get away with that against a top 10 wrestler most of the time.
He's always has a little bit of that in him. His freshman tournament was such am awesome rollercoaster.SVN better be careful. He’s been putting himself in some dangerous positions. Won’t get away with that against a top 10 wrestler most of the time.
yea, MM actually turned and said something to him about it...smiling of courseDamn it, Mitchell! I had a fall in KYPSW.
Did the Maryland kid take top? I think he did even though Byers didn't catch it. That was kind of weak, but, kind of smart by Rodriguez.
I'm not going to lie, it was touch and go for a minute at the begining. Then the ref blew the whistle to start 125.Do we win?
That is what I thought.don't think so. I don't think he knew he got another stalling point in the closing moments
Today had a few errands and then was going to a nearby town to get some groceries and to go to a gun store to buy another suppressor. It's an Otter Creek 22 caliber .Finger twitching begins about 4:45 for a 5 pm start.
I remember being confused coming from the far northwest and going to the Jersey shore duals and we were not even in New Jersey. Got to see the Alton Twins up close there. Man did they slaughter kids in highschool. My coach Ron Pifer at State High would coach us that in order to get a stoppage. Lol. Used that in a tournament at Jersey Shore to get a reset. lol
Any relation to the drop kick Murphy'sThe ref (Brian Murphy) is the son of Harry Murphy who was a very successful coach at Cambria Heights in the late 80s and early 90s. Great family.
I always count it because I want more points.Riding time is added at the conclusion of a 7 minute match. The match was over at 32-15 before we hit seven minutes, I do not believe there is a riding pointed at that point.

That's okay. I only had him for an MD in KYPSW, so it was a great result. That's Davis to a T. Had the opportunity for a TF and couldn't do it.
That was a bad team anyway, but they started a number of backups due to injuries/shirts. 157 Kal Miller is shirting. 184 AA Jaxon Smith and HWT Chase Horne are both out for the year with injuries. Today's HWT was actually their 3rd stringer.Three thoughts on today's "duel "
Was the mat pretty big or just seemed that way.
I have to keep reminding myself these MD guys are DI athletes. PSU makes them look very average.
The student announcers were funny but not terrible. They would do well to not try and fill all the dead air. That's when they seem to make things up.
I just read Crookham might of got injured again at Bloomsburg Open today.Add Aaron Seidel to that 133 list. VT pulled his shirt and yesterday he beat #7 Knox 12-0. Wow.....what a weight....
Lucas Byrd and Drake Ayala....last year's top 2. Then add Davino, Blaze, Larkin and Jax Forrest. Add in Jacob Van Dee and Evan Frost. Also remember Ryan Crookham is back and healthy. This is one of the toughest brackets I can ever remember. In a couple of years, we might consider this as legendary. The youth is so impressive. Blaze, Davino, Forrest and Larkin are freshman. Frost and Crookham are Sophomores. The USA future at and around this weight is in good hands.
Right .Unless the riding point is the 15th differential point. But in this case, point taken, you are correct.
Yup but left 9 pts on the mat.Do we win?
That would suck if true.I just read Crookham might of got injured again at Bloomsburg Open today.
I’m thinking Duke is redshirted next year with Kasak at 157, and the next year after Mesenbrink graduates, one of Duke or Kasak moves up to 165.True, but, he would have done it without a redshirt!
