Storms in the forecast, the match moved from Sunday to Saturday, etc. As a result, I'm setting up the match thread the night before.
Please use the thread for all pre-match, in-match, and post-match discussion for the 2026 PSU - Maryland dual.
When:
January 24, 5:00 pm EST
Where:
Schanwald Pavilion, College Park, MD
TV:
there is no TV for this match
Video Streaming:
The match is being streamed on BTN+, which is normally only available to subscribers. However, it was announced before the start of the weekend that BTN+ will be free to all this weekend. Thus, either go to the Big Ten Network + page (https://www.bigtenplus.com/en-int/page/home) to stream the dual on your computer, or access it via the Fox Sports App on your SmartPhone
Audio Streaming:
The radio PBP, with Jeff Byers at the mic, will be streamed for free. The pre-match portion of the broadcast should begin at 4:40 pm EST, with the actual dual taking place at 5:00 pm EST. That is what I expect to occur. However, as of 11:55 pm EST on 1/23, the LionVision page is still showing the Maryland dual broadcast taking place on Sunday. You should be able to access the audio stream at:
gopsusports.com
Once there, scroll down, find Wrestling: Maryland, and press the arrow in the button to the left of that text.
PBP:
I expect to be around for the dual. Due to my ref schedule and other events, I've only done PBP on a few matches, and am happy to defer to @SlipperyPete. Between the two of us, and @GregPickel, we should have the PBP covered. That said, we always encourage others to participate, and post thoughts about things that happen in the dual. And as always, a reminder that if you are doing PBP, please post the score of the match, as well as the team score of the dual, at the end of each match.
Also of note: somebody should check Saturday morning, to see if any PSU wrestlers show up as entered in the Bloomsburg Open. The location would make it an attractive option for some wrestlers on the roster. The movement of the PSU - Maryland dual to Saturday may change the plans -- I don't know the answer to that. Anyway, check to see if any PSUers are entered in the Bloomsburg Open, and if so, please start a thread for that event.
