Penn State - Stanford '25 Collegiate Duals thread

As indicated in the North Dakota St., I have multiple conflicts at the time of this event. So, I'm setting this thread up a day in advance, so that everyone has the details they need.

Please use the thread for all pre-match, in-match, and post-match discussion for the 2025 PSU - Stanford College Duals dual.

Due to my crazy schedule, I'm out for PBP. @SlipperyPete and @GregPickel will in the thread, so we should have complete coverage for PBP. That said, we always encourage others to participate, and post thoughts about things that happen in the dual. And as always, a reminder that if you are doing PBP, please post the score of the match, as well as the team score of the dual, at the end of each match.

Period 1:
Circling & hand fighting. Blaze presses forward & takes Knox to the edge. Blaze reaches for a leg, but can't get there. He snaps & tries to run around, but Knox stays squared up. Blaze keeps pressuring Knox on the edge. Knox drops to both knees. Blaze works the head & gets an ankle, but they go out of bounds, no scoring. Hand fighting & collar ties. Blaze snaps & gets an ankle. Knox is fighting hard, but Blaze comes behind for the TD, 3-0. Blaze gets hit with a stalling warning for some reason. Bad call. Blaze is bleeding & we're stopped. Back to action. Knox is still down. He works to his feet & Blaze cuts him, 3-1. Blaze presses forward. Collar ties & hand fighting again. Blaze takes Knox to the edge again. Knox gets a stall warning. Blaze snaps, but time expires. 3-1 Blaze

Blaze takes down. He works to his feet, gets hand control & the escape, 4-1. Blaze presses forward again & takes Knox back to the edge. Blaze with some snaps. He reaches for a leg, but no luck. Blaze is pressuring Knox on the edge. Blaze snaps again & Knox is down on both knees. Out of bounds & restart. Blaze reaches for an ankle, but can't get there. Knox shoots, Blaze counters & gets a leg. He keeps working until he finishes the TD, 7-1. Blaze gets Knox bellied out & time expires. 7-1 Blaze, +39-sec RT

Knox takes top. He works to a quadpod. Stalemate & restart. Blaze works back to a quadpod. Knox hooks a leg & takes Blaze to the mat, but Blaze pop up immediately & gets a reversal, 9-1. Knox gets the escape, 9-2. Blaze shoots, but can't finish. Stalemate & restart. Collar ties & hand fighting again. Knox shoots, Blaze counters & finishes another TD, 12-2. Blaze locks up a cradle & rolls Knox over. He gets swipes. Knox gets a technical violation for something. Blaze adjusts the cradle & then gets the fall. How sweet it is!

Period 1:
Circling, hand fighting & tying up. Nate presses forward. More of the same through the first minute. Nate takes Yapoujian to the edge. Nate tries a 2 on 1, but Yapoujian pulls free. More tying up & hand fighting with Nate pressing forward. Nate takes Yapoujian to the edge. Out of bounds & restart, 55-sec left. Nate presses forward again. He takes Yapoujian back to the edge. Yapoujian shoots, but Nate blocks him off. Yapoujian tries a go behind, but Nate fights him off. Out of bounds & restart. Nate presses forward again. Hand fighting & collar ties with some snaps. Yapoujian takes down. Nate with heavy pressure from top. Yapoujian just lays there. Nate throws a boot in. Yapoujian is still not doing much from bottom. Nate is working to flatten out Yapoujian.
