I'm just glad we have the new moral majority engineering society according to their religious beliefs. I won't go into detail here, but most people would be shocked to learn the “progressive” indoctrination going on in places like California public schools, much of it without parental consent. It's enough to make Hunter Biden blush. If you think millennials are confused about what restroom to use, just wait for the mental illness suffered by future generations. Cancelling Pepe Le Pew is a trivial distraction to the sweeping agenda already being implemented.

Why do you assume it's racist? As a kid when you read dr. Seuss books, did you read any of them as racist? No, they were silly kids stories. The only ones who give a **** about this are white liberal people. Not kids.

I never read any of the 6 books they pulled from publication. I don't think much of anyone did. But you were responding to my post about Disney movies - movies with a minstrel inspired character named "Jim Crow" or stereotypical "savage" natives. The point isn't kids "reading them as racist" it's just them reading stereotypical depictions as real. And they weren't "canceled" they were just made where parents get to decide if their kids see them or not.

Parents always had that choice. The government/liberals/cancel culture wimps don't have to guilt trip or shame anyone into putting barriers up when there's zero need to do so.

I give up anymore...Soon it will be easier to let us now what isn't cancelled and what we're allowed to say. These people need to get a real job and focus their efforts on being productive members of society instead on their self-serving egotistical agendas.

Our future?

I get a disclaimer on Disney + before they show Alladin as well, and can confidently say nothing about that cartoon is offensive. I don’t even know what part of the movie the disclaimer is even referring to TBH

The complaints about Aladdin are as numerous as they are idiotic.

1. The main characters voices are too white, the voice of racism, never mind the best English voice actors tend to be white. Hire subpar non-white voice actors, then when the movie that put diversity over quality bombs we call the audience racist for not watching.

2. The intro song originally said something violent about Arabian nights, like they’ll cut your neck. Ding, that’s racist, only white people get violent at night.

3. They blend/mix elements of Arabian and Indian culture. Bam, racist, try to ignore that Pakistan or western India exist or your head might hurt after that one.

4. Characters’ noses are big, that’s anti-Semitic (Semitic people include Arabs I think). Never mind that some ethnic groups do have different facial features generally speaking and bad guy characters like Jafar are always made ugly. You have to draw them to look like white people, wait, boom that’d be racist too. Wait, draw them however you like but make the bad guys white and uglier, that’s really the only way out here.

That company was shamed into it by whining liberals. If you don't think there's pressure from political people as well, you're naive.

Exponentially more conservatives whining about it. Most people had never heard of this stuff or thought about it, but a company makes a decision and millions of triggered conservatives lose their minds. Biggest babies in America, by far. Conservatives spend like 80% of their time whining about things that don't impact their lives.

That's because that's all they got. They abandoned all their political principles for worshiping Trump like a God, culture wars, memes, and owning the libs.

Nope. We don't cancel things because of our broken feewings. Liberal white people get triggered if someone even questions them. By far liberals get in their feelings more. Particularly young white ones claiming everything is racist. They're kids movies and books. Kids ain't the problem. They just play games, watch movies, read books TOGETHER. Stop claiming everything is racist and stop canceling everything.

Hahaha conservatives have cried their damn eyes out over their hurt feewings when a guy dares to not stand up for a special song. It hurts conservative feewings when we point out that our culture has been permeated with racism and white supremacy. We're talking, here, about things that were published when black people couldn't vote in many places, when it was illegal for a white person to marry a black person, when "whites only" was a common sign, when lynchings were still taking place. It doesn't make you a bad person if you're white (I'm white, I don't think it makes me a bad person). But conservative feewings are just crushed at the thought that they live in a society that was built on white supremacy. It hurts conservative feewings to think that things they laughed at and enjoyed and never analyzed did in fact have racist elements. I know older conservatives with whom I can have productive conversations about all manner of subjects, but if I say something has racist elements they are so triggered they lose their minds, get out of their chair and pace around, leave the damn room. Because their delicate feewings can't handle racism being real. GTFO.

Yep... our culture is permeated by those things... oh wait all of those thing you mentioned were in the past.

You're exactly who I expected you do to be. A white liberal claim there's white supremacy and racism all over. Yet you use past tense in the comments. Stay in your feewings.

Using the past tense because this thread is about things that were published in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Sorry it triggers you that those things you grew up with had racist elements.

Agree somewhat, but both sides get pretty annoying. Libs do complain about really dumb things and make up controversies, however conservatives created the whole war on Christmas while the country was in an actual war with Iraq. Fans of Hannity destroyed their Keurigs, and some of our more conservative UK fans have burned their own clothing or vowed on a UK message board to never watch the basketball team again. Both sides love to whine and love getting attention for their personal causes. Whenever one of these threads pop up, you always find the same people in them acting overly upset or trying to throw some politician they hate under the bus. Moths to a flame. Rinse and repeat.

Y’all were crying about Mr. Potato Head and complaining about a Teletubby being potentially gay.

Thanks. You get too tore up about this **** btw. Take a breath. Live your life.
I do agree with him, and I think we should speak up against this Marxist BS going on in academia/journalism, but I think Biden has shown he isn’t a leftist by doing things like shutting down Confucius institutes and saying, “no” to complete student debt erasure. This will all sort itself out in the wash. Once it does, America can go back to being the America it was in the 80s and 90s (awesome, for the most part).
As far as this newfound (~2014-present) focus on race, people act like we still have segregated buses and water fountains. We had a two-term black President (no other western country can say that) and now have a black, female VP. People will continue to be racist because people are ********. That is a constant. As far as white supremacy, yeah, Trump brought them out, but that stuff will die down again, soon.

And replace it with the Wokism cult. Men can play women's sports and take showers with the girls, 1619 Project woke history revision, fanatical obsession with skin color, gender, and sexuality, victim hierarchy to stir hate and division, White Privilege, Toxic Masculinity, endless PC ********, Cancel Culture, Identity Politics, etc. etc. etc.

I prefer Zeus.

Imagine the looks on the faces of aliens coming back like 50 years later to see the development of mankind. They probably would go all Independence Day on us.

You could start a foundation to get Zeus back in schools. Poseidon would also be acceptable.

I said I prefer Zeus over the woke religion in schools, not that I support it. Between us, you're the only one who apparently supports indoctrination and social engineering in schools, as long as it's your leftist woke cult doing it.

White liberals are people like Bill Maher or Glenn Greenwald etc... these people aren't white liberals, but indoctrinated leftists.

If/when people fully understood political ideologies, they would view these leftists with the same and entirely appropriate derision they do other pernicious ideologies.

A wokist is no better than a white supremacist, and there's way more of the former running around than the latter.

It's funny that some of the same people calling for the cancelation of a cartoon because it influences young kids minds will also argue that violent video games and movies play no part in a kid showing violent tendencies. Do TV shows influence kids or not? Pick a side and stick with it.
Oh god not the “it’s these damn violet videa games! that’s causing all this violence” despite there being studies done on this and showing they have no effect.

Wait, isn’t this thread about a ****** cartoon character?

Yes, and one of the shittiest to be exact. Give me the DGAF attitude of Bugs Bunny, the coolness of the Pink Panther or the nonstop action and skullduggery of Roadrunner v Coyote over this stink badger with a fake *** French accent.

I think “cancel culture” has gone overboard to a degree, and I think a lot of people on the right are also blowing a lot of it out of proportion because all they have is culture wars anymore since they abandoned virtually all their other principles, but this is justified.

He constantly forced himself on women without consent. That’s not something that kids should come away from a cartoon thinking is acceptable or funny behavior.

Using this logic we should cancel all violent video games. If kids are going to learn their morals from fictitious cartoon characters like Pepe LePew then who's to say the kids will not also become mass murders due to call of Duty?

I’m not sure what test to properly understand whether or not virtually killing graphic representations of humans desensitizes the human mind to murder could be done. I mean, is someone who has performed a simulated killing of another person more or less likely to be able to go through with it than someone who hasn’t?
This isn’t like Super Nintendo. Current consoles are extremely realistic in their graphics.
