"All records regardless of procedure used will be restored. We value the achievements of all our athletes."
Hopefully this will end the controversy.
Nebraska is the only place where everyone would turn this into a big deal. The Athletic Dept is ridiculous when it comes to communication. It's inexcusable for this topic to get the run it has from fans/media/others.

Ohio State, Alabama football players would just play football. Ohio State and Alabama coaches would coach. Ohio State and Alabama strength coaches would coach in the weight room. Ohio State and Alabama athletic department personnel would handle personnel issues. Worry about yourself and not everything else.

I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. You really think schools like OSU and Bama don't have these same little things that get "blown up" by media/ex players etc?
Don't be so naïve thinking Nebraska is somehow an island when things like this happen. I talk to my BIL in Oklahoma often about how things are going down there....plenty of stories like this that get everyone's panties in a bunch in Norman as well. Its local media so its not a story up here.

It sounds like to me Epply took down records that didn't use his system, got called out on it, and is now trying to save the situation by claiming that was never his Intention. He isn't getting along with the football strength coach either.

Yeah, I'm gonna need you to elaborate on that claim.

Per multiple sources, including Sam McKewon's twitter, Epley informed the athletes last December this would happen. On 1620 this morning Benning mentioned that K. Bell walked his conclusions back some. We don't need any more pot stirring.

What a bunch of nonsense. Leave them up, take them down, is it that big of a deal? If the prior records are based on a different mix of tests, any future scores will not be apples to apples. And in a sense, the numerical scores are in part a factor of a persons height and weight. So they are relative measures. A great evaluation tool. But not something to get your shorts in a bunch about.

I hope Bell doesn't wake up today to news of Pelini's firing. Man is he going to be pissed.

I imagine 80's life is like the movie "50 first dates". Except he struggles to get through every day defending the guy he played under getting canned. The record Kenny wants kept up there is "most time spent in the weight room, while not actually there because a teammate logged him in"

Does it constantly happen over a 16 year time frame at Bama/Ohio State and OU? Doubt it. Because these stupid things happen at Nebraska all the time and have since 2000. If Nebraska worries about petty little Things like this and not trying to win championships we won't get there.

I think/hope this crap will stop with Riley leading the team. As DB said this morning, Riley usually gets out in front of weird/overblown issues like that and talks about it before it becomes a huge deal.

I don't think this petty little thing is causing the coaches and players to forget about winning a championship...

Too many would be Chiefs and not enough Indians. And what would have been petty bar talk in the past is now the stuff of twitter, etc. I am way more interested in the how the Oline and Dlines are coming along in spring ball.

Living in the Ohio State circle of fandom, this is exactly the type of thing that talk radio blows completely out of reality. Nebraska is no different than all the other big programs in that. Last summer the OSU honks had hours of discussion based on what the 3 potential QBs left in the toilet and what that meant to the depth chart.

Those other universities don't have Whiny Pot Stirrer Bell as an alum. If NU just revoked his free training privileges, we could avoid future problems.

Can we at least revoke his social media privileges? If the guy has an issue, pick up the damn phone...to call someone, not tweet out a bunch of garbage. He's had 4 months to speak to someone, why now? Perhaps if they name it the Kenny Bell Wall of Fame, he'll go away happy and shut his mouth.

You doubt it, but you don't know it. Why don't you know it? Because you don't follow any other historically proud CFB teams with the same frequency and depth as you do the Huskers.

On April 1, there was some news about an NFLer ripping his alma mater ASU. It was eventually revealed that he was mad that he wasn't allowed to workout in the campus gym for free, and he caused a ruckus on twitter over it. See, I only had to go back 6 days in order to find a similar situation for a different school. But go on believing that Nebraska is somehow uniquely different in a bad way. It must fuel your desire to set up Riley for a fall.

And your timeframe for the rise of stupid things happening correlates pretty well with the rise of social media. But no, you've got to tie it to not trying to win championships. No agenda there. :(

Just another notch in #80's outrage belt. I don't know that he really knows how to motivate himself if he doesn't have something to be mad at.

This is a great point here. People often blow minor things out of proportion and think nobody else has problems like that. That's usually because similar minor problems at other schools never make it out of the circle of fans of that team. You are always more aware of all the little controversies and minor things that happen with your own team. Just because you aren't aware of similar little issues at other schools doesn't mean they don't exist.

We should be interested in "records of substance". Those are measured in wins and losses. And championships.
