Anyone know what happened at end of game?? I switched on NFHS and looked like the end of some type of altercation. Fans on the field, coaches involved, looked pretty serious. Perquimans won 38-26. DIdnt know if anyone had more info?
Jawing in handshake line, williamston and pq kid nose to nose, scrambling ensued, small dogpile, ununiformed individual comes off williamston bench, sucker punched a pq player from behind who was standing idly 10 yards from the handshake line, and then went 40 yards after the pq player who was nose to nose originally. If a student, should be 10 day suspension and no sports ever again. If an adult, should be arrested for assault. Low class and a poor job on all sides of monitoring the situation. Great game marred by the actions of a few wannabe tough guys. Used to think a lot of the williamston (riverside) program, the Harold Robinson days are long gone…Anyone know what happened at end of game?? Sounds like Riverside started the whole thing. I know perquimans threw some punches to but Riverside started it. Riverside is a very dirty program ask any tarboro poster on here heck when we played them a few weeks ago their head coach almost got thrown out of the game because he tried to fight a referee and also one of their players spit on one of ours. They are nothing like the Williamston of old. Take great satisfaction for blowing them out every time we play them just a sad situation all around though. Interested to see what is done Carver and MIC we're kicked out of the playoffs for a fightJawing in handshake line, williamston and pq kid nose to nose, scrambling ensued, small dogpile, ununiformed individual comes off williamston bench, sucker punched a pq player from behind who was standing idly 10 yards from the handshake line, and then went 40 yards after the pq player who was nose to nose originally. Fielding punts and handshake lines…good things rarely happen in either situation!Sounds like Riverside started the whole thing. I know perquimans threw some punches to but Riverside started it. Exactly. I feel for the players that had no part in this situation and now it's very possible that because of the actions of a few players they might not even have a chance to play the rest of the seasonFielding punts and handshake lines…good things rarely happen in either situation!
Yes, this is quite the quandary for the NCHSAA. For sure, let’s see what the brain trust does up there in CH. Agreed the Robinson days are goneSounds like Riverside started the whole thing. My gut feeling is they're going to kick perquimans out of the playoffs. But honestly what should happen in my opinion is whoever it was from perquimans that was involved they should be suspended for next week's game. Because I don't believe in punishing the entire team because the video I saw not every single player was involved. Now if it was the entire team then yeah but from what I saw a lot of players were trying to break it up yes there were a few players from both teams that were fighting and throwing punches.Yes, this is quite the quandary for the NCHSAA. I don't know what that guy's problem was the one in street clothes or why he chose the kid he hit in the back the cheerleaders even tried to clam him before he ran over and sucker-punched #4 that's twice he got sucker-punched but after the first one by another player while him and #20 was jawing, he went at someone to after that but he didn't throw the first punch. But some big guy grabbed the street clothes guy and got him off the field because he would hit another kid he was yelling at #7 and probably hit him if he wasn't being restrained.Jawing in handshake line, williamston and pq kid nose to nose, scrambling ensued, small dogpile, ununiformed individual comes off williamston bench, sucker punched a pq player from behind who was standing idly 10 yards from the handshake line, and then went 40 yards after the pq player who was nose to nose originally. If the one in street clothes was a fan charges should be filed. If it was a student no more sports in his time as a studentI don't know what that guy's problem was the one in street clothes or why he chose the kid he hit in the back the cheerleaders even tried to clam him before he ran over and sucker-punched #4 that's twice he got sucker-punched but after the first one by another player while him and #20 was jawing, he went at someone to after that but he didn't throw the first punch. Had the officials left the playing field?State may not step in with it after the game. Could leave it up to the schools and self punishment.
I'd have to go back and look but I believe they had left the teams were shaking hands and it was towards the end of that and I don't remember seeing the refs anywhere during or after. The game was over there was no reason for the refs to stay on the field.Had the officials left the playing field?
#4 should not be allowed to play...He was the only one from Perquimans fightingI have a feeling the folks at MIC will be more than a little upset if Perquimans is allowed to play but I guess the question is did 3 footballs from Perquimans engage in the fight? From what I saw, yes they did...and #4 from Perquimans did throw punches so he should not be allowed to play no matter what the decision is for the team. A very sad situation. I would not be upset if Riverside never played another down of football. I have never seen a dirtier team...not just this team...they have been that way for years.
What MANLY MAN gonna walk away from the situation? That's a tough position for # 4 but it probably could have been avoided. We don't know what 4 said or did to trigger Riverside players. I wouldn't be surprised if he was talking junk during the line or even tapped the back of one of their helmets while talking junk.I just saw the video for the first time..
It looks like to me the only Perquimans player that was involved in the fighting was #4. It looked like the rest of the Perquimans team was running from the other side of the field to break it up once they finished shaking hands and saw what was going on.
I could make the argument for #4 that he was defending himself because it looked as if alot of Riverside players were jumping on top of him including a guy from Riverside in street clothes.
After seeing the video i would be shocked if Perquimans got disqualified.
I'd have to know what if anything #4 said first. The whole thing started with him and #20 jawing but there's no way to know from the video who said what did #20 start running his mouth or #4? He didn't throw the first punch true another player came over and hit him while they were jawing but then #4 ran to his right after another player and started hitting him so you'd have to hold him accountable for that.I just saw the video for the first time..

I heard that # 4 spit on # 20...I'd have to know what if anything #4 said first. I think Riverside deserves most of the blame. When perquimans was trying to do kneel downs at the end of the game Riverside had several unsportsmanlike penalities and had a player ejected. Dirtiest program around hereAfter watching it live on NFHS network, I think it was all Riverside fault. They were mad because they got beat by a team they beat before. I seen a player with a jersey on fighting, I seen 6 Riverside players jump on 1 Perquimans player. I even seen someone from Riverside sideline run and blind side someone who had nothing to do with the situation and then start fighting against that 1 from Perquimans. RIVERSIDE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED!!!! Not fair to Perquimans!!!!!!!
If I was the Perquimans coach and found out that he did then I wouldn't need a ruling from the NCHSAA he wouldn't play in the next game.I heard that # 4 spit on # 20...
