What am I missing? I don’t want him to leave but Ark, UL, Ole Miss?
Isn’t UL already stacked at guard after adding Wooley, McKneely and Conwell?
Not much point in leaving UK if it’s just to go ride the bench somewhere else.
I'd boo my own dad if he coached anywhere but UK... LOLl will wish him well anywhere but UL, UT or Arkansas.
I’d boo my own dad if he coached those teams. Lol.
Maybe Beard will try to beat some sense into him?I saw where Beard was making an in home visit with him today. It sounds like Ole Miss is very interested.
It's bargain bin time in the transfer portal.Perry is going to be an interesting case on the NIL era. I assumed UK could and would pay him more than any other school due to his ties to Kentucky. If someone else is willing to pay significantly more then I don’t blame him for taking that bag. The problem comes when he transfers to another high D1 school and barely sees the court. What then for season 3? He isn’t developing, isn’t getting playing time, isn’t showing what he can do. It’s likely his NIL offers for year 3 would plummet (outside of Kentucky). Would he better off going a step down (even for slightly less money) where he could at least be a strong PG #2 and get enough minutes to show off his potential and develop his game? It will be interesting to watch.
Maybe him and Pope didn't get along much? Pope didn't recruit him. He's a Cal recruit. He doesn't have allegiance to Pope like the others on last year's squad.
Or….
He wants to play and just not ride the bench and collect a check.
This sounds great out of context but in context literally all @bluedom44 was saying was maybe Perry doesn't get along with Pope was the only reason he could think of why Perry would possibly go to UL to ride the bench and collect a check instead of just staying at UK to ride the bench and collect a check.Or….

Yeah I was just making the point cause some on here are shocked that he's leaving. He's only going to get mop up time and he's also not a Pope recruit. So it's not shocking he's jumping.

What evidence?Evidently Perry doesn’t see it that way.
What evidence?
That's your assumption. It's a perfectly good guess but it's no better a guess than @bluedom44 's opposite guess and it's certainly not apparent. It’s not my argument.
“Why would he go somewhere else to ride the bench and collect a check!”
Apparently he doesn’t think he will or he wouldn’t be leaving.

Do you really believe his agent? What am I missing? I don’t want him to leave but Ark, UL, Ole Miss?

If he goes to a rival he will be hated and should be booed.
Never said he did.I doubt he or any other player truly cares
Yeah, we all get that. That’s why the question posed is why he’d choose a school where his playing time prospects would still be limited. UL just added three other highly regarded guards from the portal … so it ain’t exactly a logical choice if his reason for transferring is playing time.Or….

I’ve been a Perry supporter but I’m out on him if he goes to a rival. He’s from the state and knows what it means if he does.If he goes to a rival he will be hated and should be booed.
Of course it's unlikely but it's also unlikely either that he would get playing time at UL or that he would want to go to UL and not get playing time. But there UL is on his list——so why is @bluedom44 not free just to think out loud and speculate?Seems unlikely.
Have you heard our coach speak about him or anyone else?
They are all super fantastic.
Just seems unlikely.
That is all.
Never said he did.
Why would you booo a player that played for you and tried it improve his situation? If he goes to a rival he will be hated and should be booed.

Occam's Razor is on the other side of the equation. There is no obvious reason why Perry would want to transfer to UL who has even better guards than we do, so @bluedom44 's guess is actually the simplest explanation why he might still want to go to UL under those circumstances.Occams Razor

No offense but someone who is able to justify the concept of being both a Kentucky fan and a Hog fan really doesn’t have a reliable hand in discussing how rivalries are seen by sports fans. Why would you booo a player that played for you and tried it improve his situation?

I think being a fan of one sport and not the other makes some sense to me, but not of the same sport, particularly rivals or conference foes.I met more than one Tennessee/Kentucky football and basketball fan growing up. Same with Alabama.
People are weird
Booing a 20 year old stranger that dribbles a ball. lmao.If he goes to a rival he will be hated and should be booed.
