Perspective please

While the pressure ratchets up on the semi-final teams, I would like to ask for a bit of perspective from the adults on this site.

Wishing for teams to suffer injuries or get "beat up" before the championship is a pretty scary thought to someone who has their kid in the hospital hoping to be stabilized after suffering a collapsed lung and broken ribs.

We all know how physical football is played and won. We get that you need to go to a very dark, violent place to play against the more physical teams in the state. But I would appreciate the adults pumping the breaks on the bloodlust and expressed desires for harm upon the 16-17 year olds playing this weekend.

This site, along with Twitter and Facebook, is read by mothers of these boys and it doesn't help them sleep at night when 30-50 year old men are gleefully posting about dreams of their boys being hurt. Don't ask me for specifics, but please use some common sense when posting for the next two weeks.

After that, the moms and short timers leave.

I hear you. I am no pacifist here. I get how football is played and how games are won.

If we don't cheer our teams with the utmost dedication, the terrorists win. SF
