I know that I don't post all that often, but I lurk. This game tonight was HUGE. Today was one of the toughest days of my life. The reason being that I had to bury one of my closest friends who took his own life last week. All of these thoughts have been running through my head and I honestly needed a distraction tonight. I love my Duke boys, but I didn't think we would win tonight. Especially after Matt went down with his injury. I cannot believe we just won this game. This doesn't take away my feelings of pain and loss, but it certainly brought a huge smile to my face tonight. This has to be one of the greatest Duke wins over UNC ever. Not trying to be a prisoner of the moment or anything. With that said, the odds were insurmountable for us to overcome and win this game.

It is absolutely does just that. Honestly, this win tonight caused a wave of emotion to just hit me and it was really the first time I've felt genuinely happy about something in over a week. Wasn't expecting to see a Blue Devil victory tonight and I just can't get over how hard we fought. This team has grit and they're together. We get Amile and Matt back healthy and we are dangerous come tourney time.

Praying for you BleedIt and for the family of your friend. And i absolutely feel what you mean, it's the power of sports and fandom. Just one of the many reasons I LOVE sports because it genuinely can transcend almost anything at certain times. Hang in there good sir and LET'S GO DUKE!

I remember when MLB hit the field again after 9/11. That's probably the biggest, best example of how a little game can bring people together and remind you of the joy we should seek out in the rest of life.

Sorry for your loss, bleedit. Prayers for healing, grace, understanding, and support through grief during such a terrible time.

Thanks guys! It has been a tough freaking week. So, seeing the boys in dark blue win against all odds in the dean dome facing a deeper heavily favored tar heel team definitely took my mind off of things, for at least awhile. I appreciate all the prayers. The family is really having a tough time. So the more prayers, the better.

My friend I had the same ordeal take place in January and it's tough and I k ow exactly what you mean and how you feel.

Thanks crazie. I am so sorry you had to go through this as well. There are literally not enough words, prayers, or answers to make me understand completely. All I can do is pray and trust in God right now. My heart goes out to you as well.

Sorry to hear that. I can't say I know how you feel because I've never experienced anything like that but I do sincerely feel for you and all involved. It's so hard to understand why some one would take their own life. OFC

I'll never understand it Sky. Before I was born I had an uncle take his own life. He and my father were very close and it still is something my dad wrestles with to this day. When this happened my dad told me that trusting in God is all you have in this time, because nothing else makes any sense. I believe in that. Thank you for the kind words.

Thanks JC! It is good to be back! Life happens and unfortunately I don't get to post all that often. Hopefully, I can post more often than I have in the past. Thanks again to you, and everyone else for the prayers. The family needs them in this time of anguish and despair.
