I'm not gonna lie, I had UNC beating Duke. Given the way the season had gone many did. Even the annylist.
Did Duke pull out the win, they did so I'm happy I was wrong and happy Duke won. It was a win win.

I assume you feel the same way about Nova and Kansas then. Nova is running a six man rotation right now. I wish the bigs played more as well, but Duke can't afford to drop games and more minutes to Bolden could have cost them the Clemson and/or Pitt games. If they were blowing teams out then he and Vrank would probably play more, but every game has been tight it seems. It is what it is. I personally think there's been a mutual decision to limit Giles minutes all year. Could be wrong.
You make good points. I just think Bolden and Giles need to be in there to get some exposure against high caliber teams. The reason everyone though Duke would be the runaway favorites is because of the depth. We don't even use it though. I never believe in Kansas though. They always choke. As far as Nova they shocked people last year. They did get hot from 3 the whole tournament which helps a lot
No mention of how tough it is for bigger teams to match us.... you people are taking all the fun out of this years tourney. Not only spilling the future results but now even slipping on what Amile has in store???

Actually your quite wrong..... we were the run away favs for the exact reasons your starting to see! K, Kennard, Allen, veteran glue guys mixed in and deep rotation of bigs which we still have. And yes, our bigs will come up very big in the near future. This thing called practice will have them plenty prepared!!
Actually the issue was playing time. He had the third most minutes behind Bobby and Christian and his dad wanted him to be running the show at (wait for it) point guard. Billy knew that he wasn't going to get that role and instead of playing on the championship team for the second time he transferred. Had a great couple of years at Vanderbilt, but always seemed to be unhappy.
I've questioned K in games we've lost, and on choices that were evident for us fans to see. Your questioning a game we won. We're not going to agree. I'm sure you would be happy with a loss as long as Bolden and Giles got the minutes you feel sufficient. In that case I'm sure you would be harping on K for not preparing them.

I agree with much of what you say here, but disagree about Amile. I mean you're bringing up a game from 2 years ago. I think he hasn't looked great the past month, IMO.
Also disagree about threatening to ban someone - just put him on ignore if he bothers you that much.
Of course, but what does that have to do with my comment? I didn't say he hasn't looked good because he sucks. He hasn't looked good - injuries, playing out of position, too many minutes. And Gonzaga's bigs would eat him up.
Wow, there is a lot going on in this thread. Some overreaction, some reality. I will say one thing (as mentioned in other threads): I am an optimistic Duke fan, and while the Zags have been overrated many years recently, they would take Duke and the recent 6-man rotation. I live on the west coast and see the Zags play pretty regularly; Amile would get worn down against that frontline, especially being injured. Let's keep a sense of realism here fellas....
Amille really bothered Meeks in the unc game. And overall dukes frontline held a very strong unc frontline (even without hicks) in check. Do you think that the zags bigs are so much better?
I am not saying duke wins against the zags but saying their frontline eats ours alive is a bit of an extreme assumption.

That being said, again, do you all really think that Duke will get far if they truly go 6-deep with Amile (especially a not 100% Amile) @ the 5? I see no point in worrying about who actually starts, but you don't see Duke struggling without Giles and/or Bolden getting SOME PT? I know they have been, but that 2nd half against Clemson was eye-opening. Amile couldn't seem to entirely slow Thomas in that game (15 pts & 9 boards). Premek is 7'1 and over 300 lbs; he's a monster. Amile can defend, but that is a tall task for 38 minutes (or whatever Premek would play).
