We are up to 8 on this class. At this pace we may crack the top 100 soon.
The priorities sre recruiting iowa, kansas and South Dakota. We should killed it in the b10. Sarcasm. My biggest concern with the new staff is that they haven't named a new dance instructor yet. Where are their priorities?
Well considering he beats Iowa with those recruits and we’ve had trouble doing that, I’d say it’s a good start. The priorities recruiting g, iowa, kansas and South Dakota. We should killed it in the b10. Sarcasm.
It’s better than no recruits at all.
If I am looking correctly, Franklin was 5-3 vs Iowa and BO’B was 1-0.Well considering he beats Iowa with those recruits and we’ve had trouble doing that, I’d say it’s a good start.

Except he doesn't. Campbell has a losing g record vs iowa. Terry Smith 0-1. Franklin was 5-2. Even if you want to attribute the entire 2025 to Franklin he is 5-3.
Wasn't the goal to beat osu? Are.isu recruits going to beat osu? We will see.
Ps. Joe had a losing record vs iowa.
19040 acting like a whiny lil girlIts remarkable how the narrative spins 180 degrees. Before Campbell was hired there was generalized anxiety about who the new HC "would bring along from his roster" to fill a class that evaporated. Now, people are turning up their noses at the very commits Campbell is bringing with him. Who did people expect Campbell to bring with him? Recruits from Georgia? Of course he is going to bring as many players as he can to fill a depleted roster from ISU and from the recruits that committed to him before he was hired.
This is a good thing folks. These recruits are rated 85 to 87, and will contribute on a P4 roster. No, the blue chip ratio is not that of OSU but this staff is exceptional evaluators, according to industry sources, so a grace period is necessary to see what they do.
Blue chip ratios do not always tell the who story
Yup. Low-value poster19040 acting like a whiny lil girl
Yep, I said in an earlier post about a week ago on this topic that he only needed to bring in 10 to 12 kids for the 26 class and then the rest would all be portal. These high school kids seem to be guys that will stick around for three or four years and develop so that by the time they are juniors they’re getting good minutes. I really like the middle linebacker type kid they just picked up, he has Dan Connor written all over him.Its remarkable how the narrative spins 180 degrees. Respectfully, I would tell you to look at the number rating versus the star rating. Kelan Kaiser (LB) is from Sydney, Nebraska a town of 6.410 people, This means that his exposure was limited. Even so his rating of .8689 indicates a very good player. He likely has not played against any high end competition. So, this suggests a high floor player that could develop into a very good player with the right development. We are now up to 9 recruits - another ISU 3 star - LB from Colorado. If we hired a coordinator or nfl guy we would still have 2 recruits. This is all a good thing considering the circumstances.
Yes, that was the goal. But, who has beaten O$U other than IU (once in a lifetime) and scUM (cheating or not)?Wasn't the goal to beat osu? Are.isu recruits going to beat osu? We will see.
Hoping we can get to 15 with a few more isu recruits and perhaps pick off a few from Michigan. The next few portal and recruiting classes will be quite large, even with 15 2026 recruits.Yep, I said in an earlier post about a week ago on this topic that he only needed to bring in 10 to 12 kids for the 26 class and then the rest would all be portal. Definitely a good point about bringing in gritty, blue collar types. Of course you need great athletes but the team trend was going away from having any of these type of kids. Deluca is this type but these guys are ranked higher than he was out of HS so hopefully they turn into similar but better players.Campbell needs bodies at this point to fill out the roster. Transfer portal opens in a week and things are going to get crazy. And honestly i like that Campbell is bringing in some midwestern grit type players into this program. Penn State has struggled against, even in victories, these big ten teams comprised of 3 stars recruited out of the midwest and I always wondered why we didn’t recruit some of these kids. A TE from South Dakota? Heck yes, you know you won’t have to ask that kid twice to learn how to block.
Certainly the potential to broaden our geographic recruiting base. Need to keep strong in NJ, DMV too.Definitely a good point about bringing in gritty, blue collar types. As you said quite a few Midwest teams on our schedule who give us fits with this type of recruit, so having a few will at least help with the practice and mindset
Of course. Penn State's bread and butter will be its immediate region, but these existing relationships Campbell has built in Texas, Florida and the Midwest will only help build stronger classes.Certainly the potential to broaden our geographic recruiting base. Need to keep strong in NJ, DMV too.
I think 15 is very reasonable. I would be surprised if Jontez Williams, Jeremiah Cooper, and Becht do not follow Campbell. The two corners are really quite good and will upgrade the CB room after Harris and Washington move on.Hoping we can get to 15 with a few more isu recruits and perhaps pick off a few from Michigan. It will be interesting to see who the new DC and DL coaches will be. It is vital that we hire coaches who can keep the DMV pipeline open.I think 15 is very reasonable. Difficult to know. Until the other night many had Barnes penciled in for the DL coach spot. As someone mentioned on this board, maybe the HC being targeted is bringing his DL coach with him? If so, it would explain why Eli Rasheed has not come over,It will be interesting to see who the new DC and DL coaches will be. It is vital that we hire coaches who can keep the DMV pipeline open.
Is Dan Connor definitely the LBer coach?
Absolutely. Will make Gesecki, Friermuth and Tyler Warren look like chumps. C’mon man. I think Campbell is doing the best he can given the circumstances but let’s see them play first.Campbell needs bodies at this point to fill out the roster. What do you have on the other potentials like the RB ?Of course. Penn State's bread and butter will be its immediate region, but these existing relationships Campbell has built in Texas, Florida and the Midwest will only help build stronger classes.
Guess what getting those midwestern grit type 3 star players gets you? Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska results. That’s taking a big step back. I’m sorry. I get your point, but DeLuca? DeLuca was the most glaring deficiency on the defense this year. DeLuca should not be the benchmark.Definitely a good point about bringing in gritty, blue collar types. I said ‘but better’ obviously to get where he is from being a walk on says something about the type of person and work ethic he has. That’s what the other poster and I are getting at.I’m sorry. I would take Michigan's recruiting class over oursWe know BGJ can’t beat anyone with a pulse so let’s see what Campbell can do before we bail on him - could be worse we could be Michigan right now.
Nothing, except for Becht who i expect to come overWhat do you have on the other potentials like the RB ?
