What the hell is chess pie? Transparent pie looked pretty terrible and bland - looked like vanilla pudding in a pie. Also what is derby pie? And I've never heard of peanut butter pie or chocolate chip pecan pie, which both sound pretty amazing. Damn, all these pies that I'm not aware of.
Peanut butter pie is a mixture of peanut butter, whip cream, cream cheese, and confectioners sugar. It is frozen. My wife also makes a lemon ice-box pie that is uses lemonade mix. It is a great summer time treat.

Peanut Butter pie is the best. It's the only thing I look forward to eating during the holidays.

Man I wanna eat some pie right now. Those all sound amazing (except for chess pie which sounds disgusting). Derby pie especially that thing looked amazing. Key Lime pie is also great, love the graham cracker crust.

Strawberry Rhubarb you simpletons. Jeesh. Learn Merica and it's glorious pie history.

Coconut pie from Missy's at Ramsey's.

Fruit pies and peanut pies are a scourge. I refuse to even discuss something as horrible as savory pies. (Chicken pot pie excepted.)

Pie is the greatest. This poll cannot capture all the wonderful pies, so please discuss and fight about your favorite pies.

I think my fav would be a chocolate chip pecan pie. I also stand firm on the fact that cheesecake is a pie, but for fairness sake, I will not include it in a poll.
Where is the selection for derby pie? Or are you afraid of getting sued?

Best pie I ever had was the grape pies my grandmother used to make. I still dream of those...

My traditional favorites are cherry and apple.

From my Grandmom's cookbook that came with a wrought iron range 1946.

Grape Pie:
4 cups blue grapes
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp quick cooking tapioca
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp grated orange rind or 1/2 tbsp lemon rind

Stem grapes and slip pulp out of skins. Cook pulp, covered, until seeds loosen.
Press through a course sieve to remove seeds. Mix pulp with skins, sugar, tapioca, lemon juice and rind.
Fill pastry lined pan with mixture and top with crust or lattice.
Bake in hot oven 10 minutes, then lower heat to moderate and bake until done - 15 to 30 minutes longer.

A lot guessing with those old coal stoves.

I hate fruit pies. I don't think fruit belongs in a pie with the exception of banana cream pies.

Still, all are far inferior to the peanut butter pie, which is easy to make. A jar of peanut butter, one thing of Philly cream cheese and a tub of Cool Whip then poured into a graham cracker crust and then use some chocolate drizzle on the top to make a ganache and put it in the freezer.

Why was strawberry pie not on the list? Easily top three and so easy to make. I'm no chef and I can make one in twenty minutes. Do better!

Real mince pie usually contains suet (hard beef fat attached to organ meat) and beef tounge in addition to dried fruits and spices. Who would want to eat that?
