Going to have to say a big Nope to this, pecan pie is perfect as is. You can keep the bourbon, chocolate chips or any other ******** you might add to it out of it. The best pecan pie I've ever had was at Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls, Tx.

Coconut
Banana
Chocolate Cream.

Although I'm not sure if I've ever so much as tasted a pecan pie, the look, smell, thought of it makes me want to puke. I have a question though, are a pecan and derby pie the same?

Very strong words. Doesn't change my opinion. Chocolate and bourbon are not ********. Far from it in fact.

Had pinto bean pie once, it was sweet and was supposed to imitate pecan pie. It was not bad but I lived in SC at the time and had beau coup pecan trees around so I did not ask for a recipe.
