Pike’s contract

[Plum Street]

This is a good story from last year from Carino with asbury.

If we go on a deep run this year, his agent is gonna get calls . Nature of the beast.

It’d be malpractice to not see his interest in interviewing.

As the article states, he is making very good $
He loves RU
RU loves him
He loves his players &players love him
If Dylan signs, real potential to reach final 4
RAC expansion without losing the advantages
He is NE guy
Lots of reasons why he is long term RU

RU needs to keep Pike happy and give him all the resources he may need plus a bit more. It was extremely challenging to find a great coach that fits this program and we have to do everything it takes to keep him as long as he continues to show consistent success (winning + good recruiting). RU also needs to use this opportunity to plan for the next 10-20 years so we can continue this success (NIL, facilities, career support, etc.).

If Pike ever leaves but Brandin Knight replaces him I would not be mad.

I always wondered this … if pike leaves this is an attractive job . Do we get a proven winner or go with an assistant that was part of the successful regime . If pike left this year, I would go hard after jay wright.
