When pisgah nation was talking state championship back in August, i told them they were average and they would not make a playoff run. Now they all know the bud man was right lol. Here is some friendly advice for pisgah nation ,before you start braging please go watch other teams, that will tell you a lot.
East Lincoln scored 13 points and we scored 10.
I feel sorry for those young men and coaches.They are the ones that have been working since January lifting weights,spring practice ,showing up at practice no matter if it's hot,raining or cold,them giving it all they have on Fridays nights.
As for us fans, we have had a lot worse years than this and we survived.10-2 is a record to be proud of.Proud of those kids and coaches.

I got spanked on the hand on the other site a couple of years ago for saying basically the same thing, but a true statement most of the time
Many moons ago I got admonished for derogatory comments about Michael Waltrip, an alleged professional. I responded that it seemed odd that 15-16 year olds are run down on a daily basis on this site and my comments about, again, an alleged professional got me smacked on the hand.
Lot of guys on this board was braging about a playoff run and how great your defense was. Pisgah needs to change their name from bears to hype. Everyone knows how crazy pisgah fans are all they do is go around and hype them up. Thats not fair to the players. First off i am not a coach ,but back in august anyone that knows anything about football could see pisgah was just average. Mtn 6 was very weak conf, you idiots brag about how strong it was ,after friday you want have any teams left. Start of the season i throught hen would be the best team, but injuries players leaving killed their season. Since i have been right about everthing , next season look for smokey and franklin to be pretty good also east is on the rise.
Doesn't matter of the skin color....... they are just slow. It's not just Pisgah.....mountain football in general is slow.
No skin color doesn't matter. But in all fairness, black athletes tend to be faster than white athletes. That's a broad generalization I know, but true nonetheless. And there just aren't alot of black folks in the Mountains, for whatever reason...
Not all of us. Reynolds, Erwin, Asheville, and Hendo are far from a bunch of "slow crackers".
I consider real mountain football west of Asheville.....tuscola, pisgah, Franklin, ashe etc....
Well Erwin is about 1 mile west of Asheville and they are far from slow. Lol. I get what you are saying though.
Shoot Asheville has some of the best athletes in the state. The thing I love about high school football is when those 11 are lined up it dont matter color nor creed they are all brothers .
Slow is also relative. Conventional wisdom and history tells us mountain teams struggle when off of the hill.
Most of the African American population in the mountains is in a small area in Asheville. That's why Roberson, Asheville, Erwin, and Reynolds have much larger concentrations. Nothing racist about it. It's just demographics. Erwin has about 55 players and I would say they are split half and half. When you get west of Asheville you tend to have small towns with very gritty and tough players but not the same amount of speed. It works at the 1A level but once you get above that there are so many more good teams in the rest of the state that it not the same
Tuscola used to compete well, back for many years they were regulars in the 2nd and 3rd round in both 3 and 4a, the times and demo has changed a lot, now AC Reynolds and Erwin are the teams that get a lot of talk around here, along with the SMC and MTN Heritage. Pisgah has always been a blue blood team, not the most athletes, but they always came to play and hit you in the mouth, i still think at least that part holds true, every once in awhile we get a run of top notch kids in Haywood County, but not like we used too. I remember playing back when Erwin used to be the game you would schedule for Homecoming, now you don't want them anywhere close to that date lol.
Not too familiar with the area, but I'll always heard Murphy has great athletes
